its quite conceivable, as hes in the final year of his deal and it has been speculated for quite some time, that Rick Adelman will be let go in the not so distant future...

its also not out of the realm of possibility that rick carlisle could be given his walking papers by seasons end-as crazy as it sounds....it appears hes lost the team, as the players are simply tired of his restraints and are totally fed up....

now...sacramento would be looking for a coach....and carlisle-a great coach in most peoples eyes- would be available....

and ron artest is on the kings roster...

ill be very honest piksi...and this is very off topic....but since u mention it....

the kings should enjoy the honeymoon the rest of the season...i really think they make the playoffs with ron...

but then make a deal with the devil and send him to one of the LA teams...i know that would be considered sacreligous, but i think it would be prudent...

otherwise, my guess is its likely to not end very pretty....

trade ron...hire rick....and the kings get the best of both worlds....they optimize the situation...

i said some time ago the best trade these teams couldve made was swap head coaches at the beginning of the season...

the pick isnt likely to be too much different....sqeaking into the playoffs as an 8th seed versus where u wouldve finished wouldnt have garnered u too different of a player....

I was thinking this same thing myself.

After reading some comments on pacers digest, its obvious that Carlisle is in a bit of a dog house with some fans.

Its as clear as daylight that this is Rick's final year in Sacramento. He will walk at the end of the year no doubt. He lost a lot if trust in Maloofs since the off-season and he wasn't overly impressed with their interview on ESPNews yesterday and the way they leaked out the trade info.

Come the end of the season, don't be surprised if Carlisle ends up with Kings and Adelman ends up with the Pacers.

Said the same thing yesterday. Kings' best hope: Artest plays nice (in both senses of the phrase) the rest of the season, re-establishes his value, and they move him for something of value (and less volatile) before the volcano erupts again. The Clippers reportedly were willing to give the Pacers Corey Maggette for Artest. Would they do the same for a team in their own division?

As long as ron keeps his head on we'll be fine, adelman has handled headcases before, I think the team should resign him, give him some stability here, give him a lot of money, etc. Ron with Carlisle doesn't work well, we already saw that in Indiana...

Lets get one thing straight. If Maloofs offer Adelman a new contract, he will not take it. He will go somewhere else. There is always a team that would take a coach of Adelman's caliber on.

Its not a matter of whether or not Maloofs will offer Rick a new contract, its a matter of when does Adelman call it quits.

if Artest is indeed the missing piece in our Kings lineup and Adelman somehow leads this team to the 5th or 6th seed you can pretty damn assure yourself that adelman will get re-signed if and only if artest stays

I really think that this is correct. When Adelman walks next year, his replacement will not be a good. I think it is too bad because Kings basketball is more related to Adelman, Petrie, and the coaches than it is the players that have come and gone. When Adelman goes, we lose a little.

That would imply that RA and RA are getting along and Kings are improved. I cannot see how Maloofs would not make an offer to Rick after that. Would he accept is entirely another matter.
