Would you rather be...

Bench
a Kings fan or a Celtics fan?

what I mean by this is... would you rather watch your team lose 18 straight, and come to expect the losses because the team is just bad. or would you rather watch a team that comes close more often then not, but just cant win?

on the flip side, you have a team filled with a bunch of young guys who are getting valuable experience, whose superstar is out, and who stands a good chance at Oden or Durant. then there's our team... we'd be damn good if it weren't for poor coaching, a couple shooting slumps, and too many injuries.

so what would you rather have? expected losses on the way back to the top, or constant suspense followed by disappointment?

I'd take the losses, hands down.

As long as we didn't set any records for badness, I'd eat it up. Our worst season was 23-59. 24-58 would have been dandy.

Ironically, I was a Boston Celtics fan for 22 years before I finally got a "home town" team to call my own.

I'd rather watch a team be competitive simply because I've already watched a team be just bad...

I will take exception to one comment, however. The Kings wouldn't be damn good with a different coach. They still have conceptual deficiencies that can be and are exposed by the truly elite teams.

And just being bad doesn't necessarily mean winning the lottery and becoming good. There's still an element of chance in which teams get the top picks and, with the luck of the Kings, they'd still lose out on the really good guys....

I think we're still cursed.

Celtics fan obviously. Good for a laugh in the present. Add one lottery stud, maybe good for wins tommorow.

But could you have anymore loaded your question. ;)

If we were Celtics fans we could always play the card the Laker fans do of having a multitude of championships from past teams that don't mean anything in the context of the current season but are still fun to bring up in random arguments. :)

^^Oh, good answer! And, as Celtics fans, we'd still be able to argue with Laker fans...

;)

I just hope whatever goal the organization has, this team doesn't continue the suspense only to fall short.

I really hope we don’t end up like the 04 Celtics. They failed at tanking that year and are trying to correct that by putting all efforts into losing this year.

i'd refer you to my somewhat longwinded Avery Johnson argument that i posted awhile back... if i knew where it were

a better coach would make a huge difference. would we have flaws? yes. but so does every other team.

the celtics easy. they have a big time scorer they can build around yet they got a great shot at getting a top 3 pick in the lottery.

I am actually both. :) Grew up in Sacramento and lived in Boston for a number of years. I follow every Boston team but they are always my 2nd choice teams save the Red Sox.

Now I used to try to watch every Kings game and every Celtics game a few years back. I don't watch many Celtics games these days but still watch the Kings games so I guess I'd rather be a Kings fan. I expect to be watching Celts games again next year.

Celts. The odds are strong intheir favor that they will get the #1 pick. If they take Oden they are in the drivers seat for the next 10 years to win multiple championships.

Us on the other hand are in the drivers seat for continued mediocrity for years and years..... Not good enough to win or to lose consistently..... YEEE HAW!!!! :(

Kings fan, but what the Celtics are trying to do right now. There's just no point in us struggling and fighting to get that 8th spot.
