With Ron on ice, will the Kings pick-up a free agent?

Does anyone have any speculation if the Kings will pick up a free agent to fill the player gap created by Ron being on ice and Hart being waived? I will not speculate on the outcome of the Artest situation, but I do think:
a) No matter the outcome, Ron will not be playing for a while.
b) It would be better to sign up a FA now to get them in the mix sooner than later.
c) With things so up in the air with the Ron's situation, a little insurance policy like a FA to fill the bottom of the roster might be wise to have on hand; even if the Kings reactivate Ron soon, there is still the potential that he will be suspended for an extended period of time.

Any thoughts?

Sprewell still a FA? I'd take him for cheap for the rest of the year, hoping he still has something left. Doubt he'd cause any trouble at this stage.

..........Waits for a million reasons not to........

hasn't the time past when you can pick up a free agent and place them on the payoff roster? Could be wrong about that

If so, not sure what the point would be. If we make the playoffs, we can't use them. If we don't, we might as well give playing time to the guys we have. We have enough guys to cover all positions.

When is Ron coming back? If he and his wife make up and say there is a misunderstanding and the charges are later dropped...shouldn't he be allowed to play?

The team doesn't have any money to spend, so I can't see it. Maybe a guy at the Justin Williams pay level, but that obviously wouldn't be a substitute for Ron, just a warm body. Even the DL is pretty well picked over by now, the handful of guys left who are showing much promise are smallish guards, so that would be more like a Hart replacement than a Ron replacement.

I'm not expecting anything significant.

Did the Jazz sign Amundson for the rest of the season? I know he was given a 10 day trial. That's about all I can think of. He definately brings energy, decent height at 6' 8" - 6' 9" and is cheap. That's all I have. Can we even bring anyone over being we're past the trade window and our playoff roster, if we make the playoffs that is, is set already?

The Jazz signed Amundson to two 10-day contracts, during which time he played 2 minutes and accomplished 0/0/0/0/0. I have heard that Denver is talking to him (about maybe playing for them at some point in the future), but for now he's back in the DL.

I thought Philly picked him up... guess I heard wrong.

Ashton Kutcher wanted too much money.

They all look like they are family don't they. :p

Kutcher, Kover, Amundson and Louis and Ashton like twins (Louis just took off from the womb and pumped iron and worked out heavily and greatly dwarfs his little bro Ashton that was more of the playboy model/movie star). :p

Staright answer would be "no". Not even sure of the theory really. We've had too many bodies all season long, already have a backup SF who wasn't getting the minutes he needed to develop (Cisco), have no grand ambitions, and do not even know if Ron will be absent for more than a few games. So just...no.
