what do you guys think? can we be a contender if we do make it? did we just throw the season away?
JayBird said:We'll make it. Anywhere 6th-8th, meaning either the Spurs, Suns, or Sonics in the first round.
It's tough to compete without a strong front line. If only we had a quality power forward...
Joker112 said:The Kings have one of the toughest remaining schedules in the NBA. While we all hope this trade works out and the team rediscovers itself, I won't be holding my breath. As it was before Webber, just making the playoffs will once again become a great achievement. Long gone are the expectations of a championship parade any time soon in Sacramento.

LMM said:the forward position is very important, especially in the west. you have to worry about the likes of duncan, KG, dirk, etc every night. can darius guard those guys? or atleast give us almost the same numbers as the opponent will (like cwebb can do)? i don't think so.
so wow. this trade sucks.
JayBird said:Care to explain?
SacTownKid said:Better question: Could Webber guard those guys??? Scoring on the other end aside. What does it matter when you let the opponent get the bigger numbers.
LMM said:webb has shown he can guard those guys when his knee is feeling okay. look at that spurs game where we won. he guarded duncan as best as anyone could. i'm not saying webb could guard those guys consistently, but atleast he can put up almost the same numbers as his counterpart will. so that will just wash the matchup instead of it going completely against our favor.
Vlad said:care to explain why you think the Kings acquired Sam Dalembert?
SacTownKid said:How many times has Chris played that well on D this year. He's 1-52 in that regard.
LMM said:my point is that he can match the number his opponent will drop on him so it could become a wash. you think darius can match KG's numbers? duncan's? that's just my point. no one on this team is capable of guarding those PFs. and now, it gets worse. cause we won't be able to atleast match their production.
lol.SacTownKid said:Their production can be matched by spreading the production across the 4 other all-star calibur guys we have.
KP said:lol.
JayBird said:it was a mistake, I was misinformed.
Yet, you seem to know all the details of this trade, and still seem to think the Kings haven't just been bent over by Philadelphia.
You're turn to explain, sir.
Vlad said:I think Petrie knows a lot more than either you or I about Webber. He did not do this trade because he is in love with Peja, as payback for killing the arena deal, or any other nonsense that has been brought up. His only job is to make the Kings a better team, and he's damn good at his job. Do you think Petrie would have done this deal if he thought he Kings were getting bent over by Philly? Just because most Kings fans don't understand or know his reasoning doesn't mean GP is on crack.
