Who NEEDS RonRon? That's who to work with.

RonRon wants a championship and brings great talent with bunch of baggage. But who really can he help this year or next get to the Finals?? Not the Knicks or Heat for sure. So we need to look at those teams back east who are one stopper away from getting to their conference finals:

- Cavs
- Raptors
- Wizards (with Arenas back)
- Magic

and then the bubble teams that want to get past 1st round this year and beyond next year.

- Nets
- Pacers
- Bulls

Who do any of them have that would help us in a swap for RonRon and who of them can use-deal with RonRon to get to the next level? Not the Knicks or Heat.

As I look down the stat sheets for those teams I don't find anyone or two who make an easy trade. Let's play the empathy game for a bit and see who can come up with something with one of those 7 teams. I can't.

I like him going to the Raptors if we get Calderon back. Then we can move Bibby to wherever :D

That would be fine but $$ are way off so need someone else back to Kings.

What about to the Hawks? Or better yet a 3 team deal w/ the Hawks, and Raptors.

Bibby to Hawks (Johnson is not a starting PG, and Law isn't YET), and Ron to the Raptors. We get Calderon, 1st round pick... hrmmm.. OK I am not looking at salaries or anythin so someoen fill in the blanks lol. From the Hawks we get someone like SHELDEN WILLIAMS! :D Yes I still like the guy.. Williams, Calderon, 1st round pick, anddddddddddddddd.... a salary to match it all up.

None of those teams really fit for a deal that would benefit both teams:

Cavs: Nothing to offer
Raptors: Potential partners, but I don't see who they would be willing to let go of.
Wizards: Butler fills in pretty much the same roles as Ron
Magic: Don't need Ron with Hedo playing outstanding
Nets: Nothing to offer
Pacers: Would not take Ron back for a dime.
Bulls: We'd have to get Loul Deng back IMO and Chicago has banked too much on him already.

Jose Calderon + Andrea Bargnani for RonRon and something else to make it look more actrative to the raptors(douby, garcia and/or a 2nd round pick, maybe even Udrih cuz Calderon is way better than him)...seems pretty fair to me

we get one of the best passing point guards (51% fg and 8.2 apg in just 29mpg and also has the best assist/TO in the league) and a very young big (21y old) that has good chances of being a similiar player to Dirk Nowitizki, very versatile for his size.

Sure in a NY minute but Raptors front office is in love with Euros and no way they part with Bargnani IMHO.

How about change Bargnani for some one else as long as we get Calderon. He is a really good point guard and would be excellent in this team.

I would think that a team that can afford to give up some young talent would be a possible trade partner. Chicago has the ability to trade a young guy or 2 and still have some young guys left so that if the Artest deal failed, they wouldn't gut their team of all prospects. Chicago has Noah and T Thomas but much of their core is also young (Gordon, Heinrich, Nocioni? not sure, Deng). I think Bibby is actually the guy who could help teams more immediately with scoring from the PG spot.

Artest for Okur?

Utah:

1: DW
2: RB
3: RonRon
4: AK47
5: Boozer

Short line-up; but could be very good defensively

Sac:
1: Bibby/beno
2: Kmart
3: Salmons
4: Okur
5: Bmiller

taller team without muscle in the paint; great jump shooting team; makes us much better at the 4 without the gridlock at the 3.

I am not saying...just thinking.

No way Raptors would give Calderon and the #1 overall pick (a player IMO who will be extremely good in the future).

Maybe Calderon and Garbajosa to round out the deal. Or Calderon + trash contracts and a 1st round pick.

Edit: Making a deal here may require gambling our 1st round pick for next season. Sell it as a top 10 pick then if we do well enough then we could turn it into a mid round pick.

Artest and Douby for David Lee.

The Knicks are a PR nightmare. They need to make their fans happy. Bring back 2 New Yorkers and call it a coup for the Kings.

hardly a coup, add a pick or exchange picks and then you have a coup or even a fair trade.

Well, we wouldn't get their 1st round pick, but I'd take their 2nd.

Hell, I'd leave it as-is too. Ron may walk after this year anyway. Take what we can get. Put Lee in the starting lineup, Moore on the bench, and presto change-o...

Bibby
Martin
Miller
Lee
Salmons
------
Moore
Garcia
Udrih
Hawes
Williams
Thomas
Jones

that's foolish. they don't have to take the pick this offseason and can wait for the protection to come off. so what? we get a mid 1st rounder this year then completely fall flat on our faces the following year only to give up the protection to a possible top 5 pick?! oh yeah! thats the way to get it done zeke. we aint going anywhere, anytime soon. theres no need to give away a future 1st in a rebuild unless your getting dwight howard.

Contracts wouldn't match up. Lee's contract is very small and I expect a lot more for a DPOY and all-star caliber player. Lee + Balkman + Fred Jones (waived). We would probly have to throw in Williams for roster spots.

The problem with New York is that all their good young players have small contracts and their bad old players have long bad contracts. If we want some of that youth then we may have to take a bad contract...

That's okay as long as it expires by 2010.

Chicago

They have no 3 worth mentioning. Not only does Artest score, which they desperately need, but his defense offsets the size disadvantage of Ben Gordon. Instantaneously, he gives the Bulls some serious cred for the playoffs.

Give me Noah. Give me Thomas. Give me a bag a of chips to go...

What we get is an instant athletic transfusion in the front line. The team of the future takes shape.

If I had to I'd add Garcia to sweeten the deal.

If we could, it would be nice to send Thomas in the deal, but I wouldn't know who we could get to make the salaries work out.

Future team

Front Line:

Noah
Thomas ---------- Let the best men win.
Hawes

Noah and Thomas are fantastic complements to Hawes on the front line.

Backcourt (I'm putting Garcia and Salmon there because they are swings):

Martin
Garcia
Salmons
Beno - backup

Starting point guard to be drafted later. If Petrie could wangle Chicago's 2009 first rounder, all the better; by that time Artest might have gotten bored with basketball and gone into producing records...

I would take Noah because he would help solve our rebounding/shot blocking issues. He's got the energy of Moore and the goods to back them up. Thomas, however, other than being ungodly athletic I just don't see much upside to him. I don't see much post game to him and he's undersized a bit much. I also think his maturity level is still in question after all that tantrum he threw before the dunk contest.

I don't get it.. no 3 worth mentioning? Deng, Nocioni... Noc has been very solid off the bench for them, and Deng isn't having a great year, but his numbers are still decent. Both might play other positions but both are clearly 3's. At worst both would be rotation players for us. I'd gladly accept either in a swap for Ron.

Be honest here, you were one of those people that wanted C-Webb gone during the choosing of sides between Peja/C-Webb a few years back before C-Webb got hurt.

Would love to have Nocioni.....big fan of his game. Kings fans would love that guy, plays hard, knocks down 3's, will mix it up, can play the 3 and the 4. I do NOT understand why that guy does not get more run in Chicago.

ARTEST >>>>>>>>>>> either one of them.

Artest and Thomas to New York for Zach Randolph. They'd free up a lot more minutes for their golden boy Lee, get rid of Randolph's huge contract, and they've got plenty of money to buy out Kenny Thomas. The salaries work.
The Kings immediately get a serviceable 15/10 PF.
