Assuming we do a S&T for Kuminga and send out Saric, Carter, and 2nds, wondering if a trade with this framework would interest all teams…

DAL Gets: DeMar DeRozan
DAL Gives: Caleb Martin, Naji Marshall, Dwight Powell, & Olivier Maxence-Prosper
Why for DAL? Mavs get a good go-to scorer & playmaker to help keep them afloat while Irving rehabs. I originally had Monk as a good fit for them, but after they signed Russell, I don’t think that makes a ton of sense anymore.
PG - Irving / Russell / Exum / Williams
SG - Thompson / Christie / Hardy
SF - Flagg / DeRozan
PF - Davis / Washington
C - Lively / Gafford

MIL Gets: Malik Monk, Naji Marshall, & Dwight Powell
MIL Gives: Kyle Kuzma, Tyler Smith, & 2031 MIL 1st (Unprotected)
Why for MIL? Kuzma hasn’t been a good fit for the Bucks so they move him for two impact players that can help fill in around Giannis and Turner (in hopes that it gives them a chance of making another finals run in a weakened eastern conference).
PG - Monk / Micic / Porter
SG - Trent / Green / Harris
SF - Marshall / Prince / Jackson
PF - Giannis / Portis
C - Turner / Sims / Powell

SAC Gets: Kyle Kuzma, Caleb Martin, Olivier Maxence-Prosper, Tyler Smith, & 2031 MIL 1st (Unprotected)
SAC Gives: DeMar DeRozan & Malik Monk
Why for SAC? We have Schroder, LaVine, Ellis, Clifford, and maybe Westbrook in the backcourt. It would be good to clear that log jam by sending out Monk. With Kuminga being brought in, both starting forward spots are taken making DeRozan more expendable. However, Kuzma would be a decent forward off the bench that can provide some scoring punch and play either SF or PF (something DeRozan can’t effectively do). Martin’s a solid bench wing as well who I think fits Perry’s identity for this team. We also get a couple swings on a pair of young, athletic, long forwards in Prosper (7’1” wingspan & 8’8” standing reach) & Smith (7’1” wingspan & 8’9” standing reach) who maybe have an outside chance at carving out a valuable 3&D role down the road. As additional compensation, we get an unprotected 2031 1st to give us yet another 1st round pick to add to our warchest. Lastly, I’d waive Davis to get us to 15 players (assuming we sign Westbrook as our backup PG).
PG - Schroder / Westbrook
SG - LaVine / Ellis / Clifford
SF - Murray / Martin / Prosper
PF - Kuminga / Kuzma / Raynaud / Smith
C - Sabonis / Eubanks / Jones

Obviously we’re not competing for a championship with this roster, but this team feels much more balanced at the very least. And we’d have our high potential piece in Kuminga that we hope could develop into an all star while also having a lot of interesting young pieces developing in the background: Keegan Murray (25), Keon Ellis (25), Isaac Jones (25), Olivier Maxence-Prosper (23), Nique Clifford (23), Isaiah Crawford (23), Maxime Raynaud (22), & Tyler Smith (20).
Not to mention we’d have the following 1sts under our control…
2026 SAC 1st
2027 SAC 1st
2027 SAS 1st (Protected 17-30)
2028 SAC 1st
2029 SAC 1st
2030 SAC 1st
2031 SAC 1st
2031 MIN 1st
2031 MIL 1st
2032 SAC 1st
