Who NEEDS RonRon? That's who to work with.

I'm kinda agreeing with you here. IF the Kings decided to move Artest, then I think getting Odom back for Ron/Thomas would be a realistic building block for a deal.

Odom is really doing NOTHING in LA. Artest overall is better, but Odom might be a better fit for the Kings cuz he can play the 4 more consistently AND rebound the ball better. It basically sheds a year off of Kenny's deal and buys us another year of having a strong chance of competing again next year. I don't think dealing are talent for mediocre 'young' pieces is all that great of an idea because it'll just dilute our talent base even further and keep us stuck in mediocrity longer.

Oh, goody.
And the last part of your post makes even less sense. Without sounding negative, can you explain how dealing "are" talent for young guys will keep us in mediocrity for longer? Thanks. :)

A lot of deals I see the young talent as being Renaldo Balkman's, Jordan Farmar's, Dorell Wright caliber players...those guys are nothing more than rotational players. Sure they may be nice to have the same way Dahntay Jones is nice to have, but are insignificant in the whole grand scheme of things. You don't trade your ALL-STAR caliber players for that crap. Odom is a border-line all-star caliber player. I'd rather consolidate talent, than disperse it amonsgt aggregate talent - that method just doesn't work, Professor.

phoenix traded their allstar caliber point guard stephon to NYK for peanuts. they then had salary cap space to sign their current all star/mvp guard stevie nash. sometimes you have to take a hit short term to gain long term. are we going to hold onto that defensive player of the year for another year because we can't get equal value back? ;)

heres the trade that went down

Suns sent Marbury, Penny Hardaway and Cezary Trybanski to the Knicks for Antonio McDyess, Howard Eisley, Charlie Ward, Maciej Lampe, the rights to Milos Vujanic and two first-round picks. Phoenix waived Ward one day later.

I lost you at Stephon Marbury. Biggest loser the NBA has ever seen(although Zach Randolph and Eddy Curry are giving him a run for his money).

And this has to do with who wants RonRon how???

Trading RonRon for lesser value and a first rounder I can see some similarity as it lets the Kings get better overall team wise with Salmons filling it at the 3. But I kinda got lost with that PHX > Knicks thing.
