Which Players Will Make The Final Cut?

Does it really matter ?

Obviously there are no minutes for slots 10-12 except garbage times.

If anyone of them gets any significant playing time = we are in deep trouble.
The squawkings I heard from the Sacbee's kingsfans forum last season made it seem that many fans thought the rotation should be like the Grizzlies one...

I get League Pass. I'm only hoping DishNet will pick up the Comcast station for economic reasons.

;)
So does that meen you get any Kings games at all with League Pass? Sry to ask but i'm from Canada and im picking up a DishNetwork.

As long as RA is our coach - impossible

I have LP also (on DishNetwork) and I expect to see most of the Kings games since I am certainly out of the 75 mi radius of ARCO.

There are some weird laws about broadcasting between the US and Canada. So don't assume anything. Either check the DishNetwork website or call someone before you count on getting unrestricted League Pass.

OK, because I had Direct TV untill it went down and my League Pass worked great! So I don't think it's a problem, I was just on the site and it looks like Dishnetwork has a Comcast station but the info says its for the Wizards and Capitals, do you think that staion would include the Kings?

You say that like it's a bad thing. We aren't the Grizzlies and their rotation pattern wouldn't work out nearly as well with the players that we have on the roster. There is a fine line between not playing your stars into the ground and not utilizing the weapons at your disposal. RA's challenge this year shall be to find the right mix.

No I did not. I just stated the obvious.

OK, me too, as I think it is at least equally obvious you don't want Blu, Martin, Tag or Alexander playing half the game if you don't need to. (Bobby, no problem)

I think that Tag should play about 20 min and Martin about 10 min. The other 2 only in case of injury or blowout.

hasnt this been the case every year with RA, finding the right mix? especially with all the key injuries the past 3 years.

So, you think Peja should play 48? Don't you think he will be a little worn out by the end of the season?;)
I am worried about that one again. Alexander is certainly an NBA quality player, but he really is a true OG, not a swingman, and so not a natural fit as a backup SF. Can score prolifically though, so maybe he'll be the guy. But otherwise...just nobody ont he roster that looks like a dependable and competent true backup SF.

Blu can hit shots. If Peja continues to look as uninterested in defense as he has in these first three games, we won't be losing much defensively when Blu comes in, not for 15 minutes or so, anyway.;) However, I sure hope that changes (and he finds his shot, he still looks like he hasn't played alll summer, which he hasn't)

Blu will be fine as a backup SF, the kid is Strong, can flat out shoot, rebound and is quicker then people made him out to be, he could develop to be a very nice role player on the Kings. Alexander is too short, and weak to play SF, I can't even see Alexander making the team because where would he play, their not going to take the minutes away form our rising star (Martin), and if he does make it hes not going to see many minutes unless someone gets hurt, he would add Depth if any injuries happen at the SG spot though, I think its going to be between Alexander and Minard for that backup insurance spot.

Blu is 1 for 3 this preseason. After games 1 and 2 I thought he might well be the single worst SF/OG type we had in camp -- Daniels/Evans/Barnes all looked better, and he looked slow, flatfooted,a nd unable to create his shot. Game 3 has given me hope again, but he's still got a lot of proving to do before he's a guy you can throw out there night in and night out.

Alexander is a odd fit for the position, but this is a guy who's proven he can go out and get you 10ppg in 20min night in and night out in the NBA. Blu's got some work to do to even remotely approach that. We're excited because he did it for 1 night in preseason.

Mike Bibby, Bobby Jackson
Doug Christie, Alexander Courtney, Kevin Martin
Peja Stojakovic X = Bluthenthal
Chris Webber, Darius Songaila, Y= Ford
Brad Miller, Greg Ostertag, Z=hopefully some one other than than the present lot.

I am not too worried about Alexander's lack of play so far. My guess is that he is sitting more fromprecaution than any serious problems, and with a gaurentted contract and a decent resume I am sure that at the moment looking at the rookies is the current priority, I am sure that with in the next few games we will see morore of Alexander, and yes he will take a few games to get the rust off and a few more to get into sync with the Kings style of play, but I would not be supprised if attitudes twords him change very quickly.

Courtney Alexander is a player and should get more time the next two games, so too early to rate him.
Kevin Martin has had one game of 23 min and began to show his stuff (I'm ignoring his first game with the jitters)
Alton Ford is a banger and looks like he could be a 3rd PF or even 3rd C at 6-9 and 280, but one game of 13 and one of 5 min is not enough either
Barnes, Daniels and Evans are quiet so far
Parada is a project but he is coming along, able to clog the middle rebound and shoot-score a bit
Minard has not played in China and neither has Ferguson.

So will hold off any eval until after game in Fresno on Tuesday.

If you've been able to get League Pass before, then there's most likely no problem with getting it from DishNet instead of DirecTV.

As far as the Comcast station already listed goes, it's specifically for the Washington DC area.

Interesting that some think Minard won't make it. Just before camp, Jerry Reynolds talked about how everybody in the Kings orginazation loved the rookies. He talked about how they were both basically a lock. Maybe Minard didnt play beause Adelman feels he knows what he has and wants to see about the other players? That would be my assumption.

I figure Blu and Minard are locks with 1 to be determined.

That's simply because he really can't create for himself. In Maccabi he came out of picks to knock down the open jumper. He can't drive, nor post up, so he thrives on the team's offense. The while the kings have great, well balanced offense, I think he could do well. He's just a role player.

No, I do not. Not at all. 35 min max would be just fine with me. What are the chances of that happening ? Just trying to be realistic. Lets just wait 10 games into season and compare minutes played.

In the last 4 years, he has only averaged less than 35 minutes a game for the season once, at 34, so I'd say chances of it happening this year are slim to none. It would be nice to trim him back from the 40 he averaged last year though.

Blu is a really good spot up shooter and would be great on a team like San Antonio or some team that get's the big men constantly double teamed. He doesn't do much else and I think he will make the team based on his ability to hit big shots.

Well, with Webber back we do not depend on his scoring compleately although with him on the floor CW and Brad have an open 18 ft at any time. Hard to find a perfect solution.
