Do u think we should completely rebuild or do u think we should trade some pieces and hope for the playoffs next year?

completely rebuild because even if we do get another superstar we will just make it to the playoffs and get eliminated first round. Unless if thats what you like to see...:(

Well i am pretty good shooter in my intramural league , I am a combo of reggie/peja / rip hamilton. BUT I AM NOT A GOOD DEFENDER :) AND BAD AT REBOUNDING !

Team definitely needs a star/leader. At this point I'd say trade whoever it takes to get one. Doesn't matter how much talent we have, the team isn't going to go anywhere with lots and lots of role players.

I think Petrie really thought Mike and Peja would step up and take the star and leader roles, but it just hasn't happened.

Moves will be made, don't know when, but it's clear this experiment has failed.

Oh lord.

This isn't rocket science. The whole problem should be obvious to even the most casual of basketball fan.

This team, as currently structured, DOESN'T WORK. It's not going to work, ever. It doesn't matter how good the individual pieces are. They simply DO NOT FIT together in any kind of cohesive manner.

It is now totally up to Geoff Petrie to do SOMETHING to turn this around. Even the most die-hard player will lose heart and confidence in a situation like this.

Sometimes the best laid plans just don't work. THIS ISN'T WORKING and it won't work until changes are made that address some basic fundamental problems.

I think you are right on target. The lack of leadership and a star is hurting this team and keep cohesion from happening.

I do not believe any one or two players are to blame. It is the mix that we have. Sometimes, it is as simple as that. For whatever reason this group of guys (talented though they are) just DO NOT FIT TOGETHER. They are playing hard. It is simply not working. Petrie has about 2 months to figure it out before the deadline if we want to make the playoffs. The ball is in his court so to speak.

I didn't put any thoughts on this yet, but i have to change my opinion that we have too trade for some players. This team is just bad and should be blown up. We can't keep on trying to get players together and hope that they fit. We should completely rebuild. We got some decent young talanted players and most likely (as of right now) will get a good pick in the draft we should build around that.

Couldn't be that the team doesn't listen to the coach anymore???

Possibly. But I don't think ANY coach is going to be able to do much with this roster. I just don't think we have complementary skills among this group. Nobody seems to compensate for another's weaknesses. And of course, no coach is going to make this group suddenly more athletic.

We need to sign Superman...I hear he's faster than a speeding bullet and able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. ;) :p

Sorry, we have 3 former all stars and one should have been all star on this roster. Portland has no one and they come on our home floor and beat us handily. The coach/system is the problem.

I am putting this here because the other thread was locked. I am not watching the Kings games because they are not trying. I had spent a lot of money and had been a part of the cost increases over the last few years while watching a team, or facility that was not worthy of those prices.

I couldn't care less what anyone thinks of me for my personal boycott. I will not be spending MY time watching any of the games, or spending any of MY money seeing any of the games in person until something is done.

Fairweather fan yes.. When the team does not feel like trying or playing to their potental and I will be a fair weather fan until the cows come home. I refuse to pay the salary of the people that aren't trying, and a coach that has none of their attention.

Is that wrong of me? If so explain. I am fed up with it all, and I am fed up with the huggers that call me a baby, and a whiner when they are being narrowminded. I have spent about $20,000 of my hard earned cash in the last 4 years or so on tickets, apparel, and other stuff Kings related. Why should I accept them putting such a bad team on the floor that does not try? Why should I pay to see a team that cant even win on their home floor?

I have been a Kings fan since about the 3rd year they arrived, and have lived through many BAD seasons when there was nothing to expect from them. Maybe I wasn't so upset because I was not spending MY $$ on games. Well now that I am I expect them to at least play to their potential.

Until a change is made I am not watching any of the games. I am suprised that others have not done similar things.

What we're saying, Gary, is that if you've decided to forego watching games, etc. that's fine. But, under the circumstances, if you're not watching the games, then you're really not in a position to talk about the players or anything else on this board. If you're fed up, fine. We'll expect to see you back when the team is meeting your expectations.

I don't understand the need or purpose of the dramatic "I'm quitting" post, I guess...

The chemistry between the current coaching staff and the players could definitely be part of the problem but if you think simply changing the coach is going to make everything all better again, then I suspect you're going to be greatly disappointed.

And?

Fans are dramatic by nature. I have football fanitis disease as well which makes me a bit dramatic having gone through 13 years of futility with the Bengals.

Basically we have a team full of players that if played correctly could be respectable. It's almost making me want to chuck my TV through the window when it comes to watching some of these games (not that I ever would). I get overly upset when I see a bunch of guys that are perfectly able to win, yet can't seem to do it, and a coach that seems unable to play the correct players. Stick 75% of us in here at KF to work the rotation and I feel we would do a better job than Adelman.

Once a change is made than I will start watchign again. I can't watch now or I think I would go crazy. I know this team as is won't do much because the players don't mesh well with one another. You give us one good PG that has a high IQ and understands basketball fundementals, along with a superstar that can score at will, and 3 decent roleplayers, and I think we will be fine.

I think your right. Changing a coach should only be the start. And I think we shouldn't blow it up, totally at least. We have too much talent to just kiss it all away. In a lot of ways we have too much "talent". These players don't have roles because most of them are not roleplayers.

Keep bibby and bonzi and trade anyone else to get some kind of star and defensive frontcourt players**cough pierce at SF cough** and anyone that rebounds and defends for our big men... We'll have enough scoring with pierce, bibby, and wells, then we need the players to do all the dirty work... I think we have enough talent to trade out to make this happen.

And that's the other problem. If we had enough talent to trade to make those things happen, we'd have enough talent to actually have won more than 10 games thus far...

Blow the damn thing up. Enough already. No more half measures.

Either take the chance to get good or take the chance to get bad, but quit being cowards and quivering in the middle. Our "talent" is apropos of nothing with out an elite level star to lead them. Just a ticket to years of mediocrity while you waste time and drain away your fanbase. Either man up and make major play for somebody able to rally the remaining pieces you do not trade and make them into something significant, or slash and burn and cash in our middleaged talent for young kids and picks who can make us significant in a few years. Either way, *** sitting is no longer an option.
