In the newest ESPN mag. They conducted a mock draft with the picks being made by players from the teams.

Ricky davis- Griffen
Rudy Gay- Hasheem Thabeet
Russell Westbrook- James Harden
Spencer Hawes- Ricky Rubio!!!

on his pick Westbrook says...

"he can handle, shoot and he's athletic. And he was in a good system at Arizona State." says guard Westbrook, who likes the make up of the 6'5 Harden. But don't get him started on sliding to the 2 so Oklahoma City can pick Spanish Star Ricky Rubio. Says Westbrook "your trippin"

so i'd say it looks a little better for us landing Rubio. I'd really worry about another team trading up tho

That's a pretty cool article because it sets off the chain of events we've been hoping for and many are predicting in the top 4. Wonder how grizz fans are taking Gay liking Thabeet, they always seem to spaz out at the mention of his name because they have Gasol lol.

I am about one more thread being started here form just saying screw it and merging them all into a giant Ricky Rubio Mega Thread. This is getting ridiculous.

Maybe thats good for people that religiously follow stuff here everyday.... for people just checking in now and then, those huge threads around here are a pain. I've passed over many a thread because its just a PITA to get through.... usually just go to the last page. YMMV.

I usually just go to the last page of a mega thread too..

DAMN!!! my "O" buttin just fell awff.
Sawrry, just a minute.

So your telling me that some of my greatest literary work wasn't even read. Damm! I think I'll cut off my ear..:o

Hey, I follow the thread if I get to it before it becomes mega, so I think you can spare maybe half of your ear. Let me call up Mike Tyson:D

Spencer Hawes said that Rubio has more court vision and leadership ability than anyone in the league since Magic left (sort of paraphrasing, but the comparison to Magic Johnson was there). Hmmm...

Hawes also picked up his undersized PF friend from Washington, 6'7" 255 pounds. That was with the 23rd pick.

Na, I wouldn't. Don't give yourself any more work than you have to. The Draft is coming really soon and the Rubio threads should die down soon after.

As Brickie's alter-ego, I don't have a problem with all these threads. At least we've got something we're excited about.

:)

What is now worrying me is the relatively smart logic going into why the Kings can/should get Rubio. It's hard to go back on the 13 years of GP and find where smart logic on our part equaled who the Kings drafted. Now with the excitement Rubio brings and the potential to fill the Kings primary need while keeping their core of young players, I find myself asking "Is it 5 o'clock somewhere?" earlier and earlier each day.

Also the ESPN comment that if Rubio misses SacTown they should take Jrue from UCLA. Then there is Tyreke........... oww, my head hurts just thinking about this.

Well at least he was objective with his second pick...:)

Fun stuff though. Hey, how do you like the southland? The land of the Lakers and takers, users and losers, dreamers and schemers. Where hope is replaced with despair, and what was once a desert, is replaced with alleys and gangways that provide the darkness to hide the cancer eating away at what was once a great city.

God, I just love taking shots a LA. Yeah, I know your almost in San Diego, but I'll use any excuse to express my distain for a place whose image belies it reality. Magic Mountain isn't too bad though. Or perhaps I should say Wally World.:)

In Mexico, maybe not...:D

Tell me about it! When I was a teenager I was on a charter bus down to Hermosillo when we got pulled over by police. Not for a ticket or anything, they actually brought a prisoner on board, handcuffed him in the aisle between the two front seats, and had us take him all the way to the police station in Hermosillo.

That was really odd.

Maybe Westbrook is worried that Ricky would provide just a tad too much competition? ;)

Thanks for posting this. I like Hawes description of Rubio. I'm sure Hawes realized he could potentially crack 20ppg with Rubio getting him an extra few points a game (not this year, but eventually).

Also nice of Hawes to push his buddy Brockman, but I just hope he has no imput on the 23rd pick. ;)

No, but the loyalty is a nice quality. :)

Agreed. Hawes has always seemed like a good guy. Actually his personality reminds me a bit of myself. Loyal, ambitious, loves to debate, stubborn, borderline cocky/arrogant sometimes, and jokes around a lot.
