Webber continues to improve

In all the excitement tonight, I don't know if people noticed Webber's numbers. He had 23 points, 15 boards, 4 assists, blocks, and 2 steals!!! He and Pedja were fantastic together - none of the stupid jealousy stuff some media writers were sure would destroy this team.

23/15/4 - Pretty impressive for someone who some were convinced would never be productive for this team again.

Yeah, I've started another thread to praise Webber, but only because Pedja has already earned my praise in the PBP and other threads.

Way to go, Webber!!!

Didn't get to see the game, but really good to see those numbers! And thanks a lot for the PBP!!! Really appretiate your effort!
Hope that he keeps on giving us this kind of performances. Would like to add that he has been having some really good games that have gone almost unnoticed.
GO WEBBER! GO KINGS!!!

Webber played and awsome game but it was not hsplay that impressed me the most its was his leadership and concern for his team mates. When Pedja got into the scuffle he was clearly proud of Pedja for standing up for him self, AND had the presence of mind to break it up. When Boozer took Maurice out Webber was instantly in there getting his teammates back but sharp enough not to get ejected. I also loved his presence of mind to jack up a 3/4 court shot when he realized they were about to foul him taking the ball to the line. I never though I'd be praising Webber for his intellegent game but tonight he played smart from start to finish and no one on that court had any question who was the Kings leader.

Agreed. Webb was awesome out there. Hes starting to become the Webber we had hoped he could be........ A Leader!

Just a warning here to the fellow chatters, I'm not trying to jinx him here ;)

Just wanted to point out that I've pleasantly surprised by Webb's Free Throw shooting. Aside from Peja, he may have been our most reliable FT shooter lately.

The stats:

Season: .785

November: .716 (with a 4-10, 1-5 and 0-2 performance)
December: .815
January: .926

He's been fantastic since december really (0.870 average since then).

This may be just a small thing when compared to his overall good play, but, still, anytime he improves on a weakness, superceding his career high, it's worth mentioning :)

PEDJA GOT INTO THE SCUFFLE ???????
Oh yeah. Pushed Harpring in the 3rd and then put Raja Bell on his butt with a very hard fould in the fourth (once we were up by 17 points)

I don't think that FT improvement is a minor thing. He doesn't get to the line as much as he used to, but FT percentage is always a good indicator of your confidence. Hope he keeps it up!

I didn't watch any of the games in the last month, but judging from the highlights, I am really happy that the Kings look a little scarier with some athleticism and youth boost that they are getting from Evans as well. Hopefully, the Cuttino will provide some of that as well.

then what does that say about bibby's confidence?

The most improvement I have seen with Webb is his free throw shooting. It has tremendously gone up. He is shooting about 80% witch is really good. He was not a very good gree throw shooter last yeat.

From what I can tell, confidence is the last thing one needs to worry about with Bibby.

He has said, however, that he hasn't been working on his shot quite as religiously this season as in the past because he's worried about being worn out by season's end.

oh.... okay then.

I have to say Webb looks unbelievable. A true testament to the talent this guy has. Everyone was wondering if he would disappear like so many players before him that had the same injury. Guess not. The guy is so diverse that he could probably be in a wheel chair and be a top player in the league. We all get mad at his shot selection sometimes but the guy is the best passing big man in the league and overall he is an very smart player.

Just cuz it doesn't show up on the offensive end, doesn't mean that it won't show up on the defensive end (in reference to Mike Bibby being tired in the playoffs)

hiis defense will not make any difference since he does not play any to begin with.
