Twix said:To clarify, Webber never said he "felt like booing" himself.
"I said I felt like booing, just in general," he said.

Great expectations greeted the Chris Webber arrival in Philly seven games ago. How has it worked out? It hasn't. Philly is still winless since they acquired five-time All-Star. Why hasn't it worked? Because Chris Webber is not a good fit for Allen Iverson. Iverson is a guy that plays with a lot of focus on him in getting him the ball on offense and Chris Webber is just the total opposite. He's a guy that plays with the ball and makes all the guys around him better. The way Iverson plays within a lot of traffic is not a very comfortable situation for Chris because every time he catches the ball he's never in a comfortable position where he knows where every defender is out on the court. That's a problem that I see that he's dealing with right now. It also doesn't help that Chris isn't the healthiest I've seen him.
For it to work in Philly, I think you have to find some way to get Chris out on the court and make him valuable when Iverson is not out on the court, which may be tough because Iverson's a guy that carries a lot of minutes. He ranks No. 1 in minutes per game, averaging 42.5. I think Chris can create more outside shooting for their guys probably on that first unit to give them some balanced offense. Plus, Webber can really bring them some offense as well. In order for him to be effective, he has to have the ball in his hands and he has to be able to make decisions.
Also, Iverson has to pull back. He has to sit back and allow himself to be a spot-up shooter. He has to allow himself to work off of Webber for his cutting, put the ball more in his hands and allow him to be more of a playmaker out there similar to what he was doing in Sacramento. The coaching staff has to make some real adjustments and fast to allow Webber's talent to flourish. Right now they've tried to bring Webber in and implement him in a position that they had Kenny Thomas playing and you're talking about two totally different players. Chris is never going to be comfortable playing a role similar to Kenny's role.

That is the key. But the question is will it ever happen? Also, Iverson has to pull back. He has to sit back and allow himself to be a spot-up shooter. He has to allow himself to work off of Webber for his cutting, put the ball more in his hands and allow him to be more of a playmaker out there similar to what he was doing in Sacramento.

doone said:Speaking of Scottie, I saw a show last night on ESPN when he and 2 other guys were talking about this subject and cracking jokes about being booed in Philly. Then they proceeded to talk about Webber's injuries and injuries in the NBA in general where they did NOT even mention the Kings! Seriously, what's up with that?! We have got to be the most often injured team in the NBA! But then they go on to talk about the Spurs who can do no wrong, how they're coping so well without their beloved Duncan and Ginobli. Ugh.
Gargamel said:This is only a joke, doone, so don't be offended, but it's funny what fans will consider a diss. Just strikes me funny that the Kings got disrespected for not being mentioned as the team with the most injuries.![]()
VF21 said:I just saw some "highlights" on ESPN. From what I saw, Marshall was shooting from the corner virtually all night. Webber wasn't guarding him BUT I did see him consistently boxing out his man for the possible rebound.
BullKing said:Yep, exactly. I was about to say the same thing. Iverson is cancer....he will never win a title. He is nothing but a selfish ballhog that has never seen a shot he doesn't like. I bet most of his teammates would agree with this statement, but they're afraid to speak up. Just look at what his former teammates are saying(KT, Pharoah, Corliss).
Philly fans should also Boo O'Brien...his coaching decisions have been questionable to say the least.
Sixers are falling apart...i'm glad we traded Cwebb...let him jack up bricks in Philly. I like Cwebb, but he is close to useless now, he doesn't have much left in his tank, he is a liability on both defense and offense as well. Plus he has a big mouth...all of the above spell doom for the sixers.
When the trade happened i was furious. I thought that KT, Skinner, and Corliss were nothing but a bunch of scrubs, well i'm glad i was wrong and i'll eat my words. They were simply not utilized properly in Philly.
