We appear interested in more than just who we are targeting to create a sense that we have options, "yours isn't the only guy we want/can sign."

I think one thing that people are overlooking here is that this team really lacks a go to scorer. That is why, despite popular opinion Rudy Gay makes some sense here for a couple of seasons while the youngsters mature to take over that mantle. This team will struggle to score next season hence reported interest in Rudy, Gallinari and Millsap.

Given the lack of depth at SF, I would rather that player be a SF than a PG or a PF.

The injury is real. Dude might not recover. In addition he might have turned down what he might fetch on the market for 2.5 years. It's an interesting tidbit though

And that is a legit concern to be honest but if he healthy I can understand the interest.

Having said that, I don't believe that Rudy is back with the Kings. Gallinari is an option but I wory about his ability to play SF long term.

I really hope if the only FA splash is someone like Tucker that we really get some bad contract/compensation deals

It seems part and parcel for being a fan of this team to get the crumbs in FA, and it's tough to take. The start of FA is actually as fun for half the fanbases as draft night for us

A big ego and a lack of personal accountability is what I've see so far. And while he's been less visible and it's possible he's been humbled and learned a lot, there's no proof that he has. Sometimes I think maybe I'm holding too much of a grudge over things like "Stauskas? Stauskas?" and calling him Klay Curry but then I hear Buddy Hield say that Vivek told him early in the season that "we're still gonna get you" and then Ranadive say he thinks Buddy has Steph Curry potential.

Every time I think he's making progress and leaving things to his basketball people there's a story or quote about him still meddling and more evidence that he's still obsessed with the Warriors.

We may never know which one of us is right but I absolutely still don't trust him not to force the team to make stupid moves.

Trust occurs over time. The fact that he's a rookie owner is somewhat consoling to me because rookies do tend to grow up with experience. That and the fact that he did get rid of PDA and he does seem to have bought into the youth movement of Divac's. We'll see how the next couple of years goes and then we should know whether the past year or so was a break from the first couple of years. If there is some sharp deviation from this youth movement - i.e sacrificing youth for mediocre vets - then I'll agree with you. Hopefully, I'm right and you're wrong!:)
 
I love Enes. Dude can't defend a chair, but he's flat out one of the best offensive and rebounding bigs in the NBA. And he's still young at 25, so he'd still work for our winning timeline. Would love to see what he could do with real starters minutes again.

Exact opposite because his home country has declared him a member of a terrorist organization he cannot return home. I believe he is seeking political asylum in the United States and citizenship here. It's his father they put in prison because of his outspoken support of a politically unpopular cleric.

Yeah, the Thunder call the Kings and say, how would you like to deal for Kanter. The Kings say no, not interested thank you. Then Kanter's agent goes out and says that Kanter was almost traded to the Kings on draft day. That's how it works folks. Take every rumor with a grain of salt.

He might, but we would probably have to overpay to get him to do it. Which, wouldn't be that bad an idea if we have an opt out after two years. We have to spend the money on someone, so why not Iggy? He's a bit long in the tooth, but he can still defend, and would be a living example on how to play the game right. Be surprised if we land him. I know the Warriors want him back.

The Mozgov deal was just plain stupid, but bringing in Deng wasn't a bad idea. what was a bad idea was the amount, and the length of the contract. Deng for two years would have made sense. But Deng for four years was ridiculous.

Look, if they were to sign Iggy to a four year deal for big bucks, I'm against it. But if they can sign him to a two year deal for big bucks, I'm on board. It all depends on the length of the contract, and judging from the contracts they gave to Afflalo and Tolliver, I think the Kings are aware of where they are right now. I doubt their going to tie up a lot of money long term on an aging veteran. But short term, that's a different story. I think the youngsters will get plenty of minutes regardless of who they sign (Otto Porter being an exception). I think what the Kings are looking for is a resemblance of stability this coming season. Difficult to do that without some veteran leadership.

It's a pretty bad situation and makes you appreciate living in the US. Kanter said that anyone in Turkey that interacts with him on social media, or calls him on the phone, is arrested as a co-conspiritor.

With Iggy, I have no problem giving him a 1 year $20million contract. If it's 2 years, I hope it's only partially guaranteed. However, I could see a guy like Iggy looking for 1 last giant paycheck. That's the type of deal I'd want to avoid. Last year, I thought the Lakers did good by signing Deng... but I was wrong.

Kings have to be careful in FA. Our interest in vets like Paul Millsap, Iggy, and PPat make me think that our FO doesn't want another 30win season again. I think if we do sign big vets to short-term contract(my hope), we can send guys to the DLeague who really need it. I'm curious to see if we'll utilize the DL the same way we did last year. I think it was extremely beneficial for everyone. Would like to see JJ and Giles spend time there. I think Fox is ready Day 1 despite being the youngest player on our team.
 
Some of you get it, but some of you don't. Our interest in FAs goes beyond who we want on our roster this year. And, it's an agent's job (offensive as it may be to some of us) to create rumors and false stories to give them leverage. For example, it could be that the Kings met with Iggy not because they though they would be able to sign him, but because a) it lets others know that we're talking to some of the better players out there (and they're talking to us), and b) the leverage it creates for Iggy contributes to the Warriors (our division rivals) paying ungodly sums for an aging veteran. That's playing the long game. Vlade is capable of making mistakes, but he's a long game guy who doesn't act impulsively.
