Twitter snark

Another case where IT seems to get pretty upset very quickly about anyone responding with less than glowing comments? :p

Looks like whoever manages IT's account needs to get thicker skin.

I moved it from the grades thread. Not sure what else to do with it...

We might just need one thread on the forum where you can't talk about Isaiah the way things are going, seriously every thread seems to be about him/turns into being about him. I mean the dude has not played well as of late but come on people give the guy a break.

It's twitter. If the person who made the comment didn't want a real response back, then don't make the comment.

Meh. Could argue he should just ignore it but if a fan is going to give abuse (of sorts) then they shouldn't be immune to getting it back. It was an unnecessary and inflammatory tweet to IT, although he definitely should have just ignored it.

We could call it "Pitchforks or Torches?" you know let BOTH sides have a voice.

Pretty sure this "LillyAnnFraizer" is a protagonist pseudo-account. "She" makes a habit of attacking people with snarky comments. It's not the first time she's gone after IT.

Oh, come on. It's Twitter. IT posted a blatant advertisement that goes out to all his followers and is retweeted because it's IT. Nice free advertising for bellabru - except I'm pretty sure IT is getting paid. The retort may have be snarky but it was pretty funny.

I tend to feel that both sides are in the right: if Isaiah Thomas, or any other athlete/celebrity, wants to use their Twitter to post inanity, like what they plan to eat while they watch the Superbowl, then they open themselves up to ridicule, and any ridicule they receive is justified, IMB. On the other hand, if the little Twitter Monkeys use their accounts to take potshots at athletes/celebrities, then they deserve whatever ***holish/sarcastic retorts they have coming to them.

As for the snark itself, seven out of ten for the jab (lacked originality), only one out of ten for the comeback (weak all the way around; if you start out like you're going to take the high road, don't change your mind halfway through the damned tweet!).

Think it was a funny tweet by whoever, and anyway the message reaches Isaiah through the wall of sycophants around him, great. But not sure its fair to make a big issue out of his response unless he starts cussing her out or threatening to send his homies after her or something. Here's just sort of the thing: if this was Boogie chipping back at a fan would we attach much to it? Think not. Unless we were Sam Amick.

Minor picking of a nit: That's not an inane comment about what he intends to eat for his Superbowl viewing as much as it is an advertisement for Bella Bru Cafe (which is, or at least was at one time) a sponsor on KHTK.

And there's the difference. DMC doesn't chip back at detractors.

No, but he cusses them out at games. Which doesn't bother me in the least -- poke a stick at the bear, I'll represent the zoo if your estate sues them.

So certainly popping back on twitter is a non-issue.

Wait, are people actually making a big issue out of this?

I'm actually not disagreeing with you so much as I'm saying DMC, for all his faults, doesn't post things on Twitter. He may allegedly say them in real life, but he doesn't put them on the Internet. :)

Well, that's clearly what Amick's problem with Cousins is: he doesn't post comments on Twitter, making Amick have to dig them up! Cousins is costing Amick thousands of man hours worth of "research." Of course he's mad at him; it all makes sense, now!

DMC doesn't really tweet though, so kind of a moot point there anyway.

Regardless, non-issue. If you want to be snarky over a tweet, don't expect an athlete to not be snarky back

I don't have any issue with IT responding the way he did. The "A+ response" from IT would have been to simply ignore it, though.

Bah; I'd like to see the snark have been a little snarkier. I thought that his retort was very mild, and uninspired; He could have come back harder than that, and it would have been okay with me, and I don't even like Thomas.

Even I am beginning to think this attack on IT is going beyond reason. I don't care what he or his aid say on Twitter.

I felt like this a couple months ago Glenn. That's why I started defending him because I didn't feel like the guy's play justified the attacks he was getting here.

Here I'll save this thread with a picture of the girl that tweeted IT.

I see nothing wrong with IT's response. That fan was being a dick towards IT and he responded.. it's not like IT is Royce White.. tough situation for White, but all he does is fight with Houston fans..

Okay, let's just clarify. We have no idea if that's a picture of whomever actually made the tweet. That's just the profile picture from the account. No way to know if it's real or not. :)

It's not a real profile picture. Reverse image search shows the photo is being used a few dozen times for various sites around the world and the poor girl can't do anything about it.

I knew that name looked familiar. She was the one that called out viveks pr girl last summer after we let tyreke walk and signed Landry and rumored interest in monta. Preaching defense then going after non defensive players. Then the pr person said something along the lines of only season ticket holders opinions matter. At the time I read some of her tweets and agree with a bunch of stuff she said as a fan and now kinda agree that IT does put up quite a bit of shots. Maybe going that route isn't the best way to voice your opinions but its the Internet, but still kinda funny
