Did someone say buttered ham?Haha. If million selling games like any of the Megaman games not drafted, any of the Kirby games not drafted, Pikmin 2, and TimeSplitters 2 are deep into obscurity, then I'm a buttered ham.

Here are some of my leftovers, mostly console classics.
-Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow Over Mystara (1996) - Arcade
-Syndicate (1993) - PC
-Bubble Bobble (1988) - NES
-Earthworm Jim (1994) - SNES
-Donky Kong Country (1994) - SNES
-RBI Baseball '93 (1993) - Sega Genesis
-California Games (1987) - NES
-Life Force (1988) - NES
-Super Mario Land II (1992) - Game Boy
-Crystalis (1988) - NES
I also have to give a mention to: The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Megaman 5 and Super Mario 2 as secondary favorites behind their superior counterparts, which I was fortunately able to draft. They weren't as good nor celebrated as others in their respective series, but still enjoyable to me. In fact, MM5 was the last decent Megaman as 4 & 6 were both rather weak while 7 & 8 were bad enough to force Capcom to say "screw it, we're going old school with Megaman 9" (Including the retro restyling of the original Megaman box art ,,, which was silly even in the 80s.)
I'm not a fighting game genre fan, but I had considered Primal Rage and Killer Instinct if a Smash Brothers didn't fall to me.
Although they were never on my list, I'm surprised Rad Racer, Outrun and Road Rash didn't make anyone's list. Also, no old school Ninja Gaidens or Double Dragons ... I doubt Slim is pleased.
And one last thought, Duck Hunt = That freaking dog. And no one wants to spend eternity with him.
Replace "deep into obscurity" with "hardcore gamer territory" and it's not so crazy an assertion.
For the record, my mom knows who Kirby is. When I see her I'll be sure to remind her that she is now considered a hardcore gamer.
That's nice. My mom doesn't. I've been playing PC games since around 1990 or so. I have been a subscriber to PC Gamer and boot/Maximum PC since they pretty much came out. I read the reviews and am pretty familiar with most of the PC games out there.
I am familiar with lots of Atari 2600 games and older arcade games.
I don't play console games except a couple of Wii games we have. Never owned a console (except an Intellivision) until the Wii.
I don't generally consider console gamers "hardcore". That's just me. I don't like the controllers. I don't like the aim assist and hitboxes. That stuff is mostly for kids. Sorry. They are OK for some racing games, but dumbed down FPS and RTS games stink on consoles. IMHO, of course.![]()
No offense, but that makes no sense to me. Now, I know you don't play console games, and thats fine, but hardcore gamers are hardcore gamers. It doesn't matter if you play them on consoles, PC, or whatever. That's like saying WNBA fans aren't basketball fans. Just my $.02
And no, I'm not covering up an insult with a smiley

Its just silly to call a game series like Megaman or Kirby "obscure" or for "hardcore gamers." Both of those series are quintessentially mainstream. Even if you are a PC-only gamer and have never played them, they are still two series you should have heard about. Especially being around as long as you have.
I'm starting to see the reverse of what Warhawk said, now they are developing the shooters for the HD consoles and are porting shooters to the PC.
Also I'm going to pimp the Wii remote nunchuck combo again for FPS. Medal of Honor Heroes 2, control settings on advanced and sensitive on high. Just about as good as mouse and keyboard, I'll take nunchuck over keyboard movement wsad. Mouse still has a slight edge on infrared aiming. Still waiting for the Conduit.
I am very glad that things are improving with console controllers, but the Wiimote (in the games I have played, anyways) has nowhere near the response time or fine aiming control as the wired mouse on my PC.
That's because you are getting too old and your aim is getting shaky.
you know I'm joking with you, i hope
I'm just hoping you pick up one sometime (esp The Conduit) so I can have someone to play with from KF sometime.
I believe the quality of my games stand on their own merit, therefore no video is necessary.
...ok, I'm just too lazy to make one.
I second that...
wow tied for first! The draft I think I am going to do the worst polls in I do the best, damn.
good job everyone though, especially venom_7. How in the hell did you get four 1sts (one of them mine) and end up with 6th place? That's a travesty!
