I select: Little Big Adventure 2: Twinsen's Odyssey for the PC (1997).

LBA2 is one of those games that, if you played it, you were hooked. Your character could change attitudes to do different things (ie, "sporty" let's you run, "angry" let's you fight, etc). This game is a masterpiece and has a massive cult following... play it... it is fun, funny, difficult, full of puzzles, fighting, running, jumping, everything!

my final pick will be my favorite RPG of the decade and easily the best portable RPG ever made (as long as you don't include those FF DS remakes :D)

Golden Sun (2001) - GameBoy Advance

Developed by Camelot Systems (the makers of Mario Tennis and Golf, which only by the power of the no-multiplayer rule have not gone yet). This game is deep, expansive, visually stunning (still probably the best looking GBA game made, maybe other than Golden Sun 2) and has an excellent battle system. It is much to deep to get into here, but it involves alchemy, psynergy, and the four underlying elements (Earth, Wind, Fire, Water) and powerful creates that encompass these elements known as Djinn. Djinn can be used to summon crazy monsters, or gods like Thor, into the battlefield. The story of this game is something to watch unfold and you quickly become very attached to the characters.

BTW: Has anyone other than me ever played this game? I have only know a few people who have and this is a terrific game.

I need another FPS, so here is one from an under-rated series

Turok 2: Seeds Of Evil (1998) - Nintendo 64

Review

Continuing my trend of taking a sequel rather than the original. I probably would have went with the original but I didn't own it, and I owned this one.

Trying to play a shooter on a Nintendo 64. Ouch. You're a brave frag...er...I mean, man. ;)

This is actually my 2nd shooter on a Nintendo 64. And I'm in the minority group that prefers FPS on consoles, only because I'm used to them. But yeah, the N64 controller was just awful if you weren't used to it. There are several of my favorite series of games not taken yet, so I wanted to get one of them.

In an attempt to pander to the lowest common denominator, I choose:

Dead or Alive: Xtreme Beach Volleyball (2003) - Xbox

I'm pretty sure this will get the Slim seal of approval. Not that I need it, since I'll be on an island alone playing...a game about being on an island with scantily clad women.

I'm pretty sure that'd get the entire male population's approval

T-minus 7 hours until the end of the video game draft. I've received 1 set of rankings (2 including my own). I'm hoping to receive all of them and get the voting underway ASAP because I may be potentially busy pretty soon and won't have much time to do them. So let's get those rankings in!

Draft is officially over. Bricklayer and Gary can submit their 20th pick when they get a chance, but I'm not waiting forever. Because like I said, I may be very busy soon.

Anyway, I've received 6 rankings so far, including my own. A few names hang around the same spot, but otherwise they are all over the place. Keep em coming

And now that this draft is over, I wanna see how much interest there'd be in a multiplayer/online only video game draft (next TDOS). The only downside is that a lot of the games picked in this draft would probably be picked again.

Sorry, I would be out of that one....

#20 pick

oh yes, had forgotten. Had been hoping to nab Fallout 3 with this pick, but its release date is Oct 28, and people finally, mysteriously picked up the pace in the last round, so that wouldn't really be fair and I am going with my other approach -- arcade.

Came down to my own two arcade fetishes back in the day, Battlezone & Star Castle, and then two early Atari console fetishes, Asteroids and Super Breakout. And the winner is...

Star Castle (1980) - Arcade

Largely because I thought this game neded some love. Asteroids, Battlezone and Super Breakout would have formed a nice core of old school games, but the other three I think are better remembered than Star Castle. And yet this, Battlezone, Gauntlet, and Pole Position were the three games that got my attention first in any arcade, and so gets the late love here from me.

I really want to make an informed choice on these, so would someone please arrange for all the games to be made into PS2 compatible formats? And then, of course, send them to me?

:p

Seriously, while I don't even pretend to know a lot of these games, I'm amazed at how many oldies I remembered once the thread started. Thanks for making the trip down memory lane possible, SacKings7.

So, can we start posting our lists of extras, or are we still waiting for one more pick?

Gary seems to have lost interest in this draft.

In any case, I'll give him another 24 hours to make his pick before it is forfeited. After that time is up, let the extras fly

Not a problem.

For the record, I went back and added videos to all my picks so that the uninformed, like yourself, would know what they are like. I think that deserves an extra vote or 2 :p
