I always wanted to like him but I just never could get past King Diamond's vocals.
A lot of people have that problem. His voice is definitely an acquired taste.
I always wanted to like him but I just never could get past King Diamond's vocals.
And now with my final pick I hit the complete rock bottom of obscurity:
Les Rallizes Dénudés (1967-1997)
WB, did you PM Jalfa since DD has committed to make-up picks for now?
There’s a few hipster approved bands that I’m surprised are still available, too.
I’ll name them once this is over.
No, made it years ago to cheer up a friend who was going through a tough breakup. Although somewhere in the generations of Flash/file format transfers since the synching has slowly gotten off. That was her favorite little fish cutout.
Adding one last entry of classic/folk rock to my collection for nostalgic purposes. This next choice is my father's favorite band of all time, and they're coming to my island bringing their vocal harmonizing, acoustic guitars, and mellow musings. With my 30th and final pick, I select:
Crosby, Stills, and Nash
With this pick I draft, King Diamond.
Every island needs some campy horror metal with an odd-ball vocalist!
King Diamond is actually one of my top ten or so metal acts. He’s a very good songwriter with an ear for great melodies. He’s also a really good producer.
King Diamond has been remarkably consistent over his career, never really releasing a bad album. He’s one of those rare acts where his recent work is nearly on par with his classic work.
Webbfan already took Crosby, Stills, Nash & YOUNG - I'm not really sure these are two distinct bands...the discographies overlap on AllMusic.
Seems like a fair pick to me.
so long as the lineup remains substantially similar, a band which changes its name is still considered the same group
I really do think that under rule H:
that these are substantially the same band. We considered Van Halen the same band despite three different lead singers; the in/out/in/out nature of Neil Young here shouldn't make a difference.
If all music doesn't make a distinction I think that is the fallback. Also since we've gone 30 rounds without a major issue like this best to just have Jespher re-pick because this will thoroughly confuse any voters that aren't familiar enough or can't be bothered to determine who owns which.
I suppose you missed the "can't be bothered" part. Some people know, some people don't. The meat is this:
Do you click on every youtube video for every artist you are unfamiliar with? Be honest.
Fair, but if you cannot tell the difference between a band with Neil Young and one without him... there is something terribly wrong with you.
This is a band with Neil Young:
This is a band without Neil Young:
What's the ruling here guys? I'm at work and can't go back and forth with this at the moment, however I feel they are two distinct bands who obviously have different (similar but DIFFERENT) names. I'll check back in a bit for a verdict.
