Though its about cheap, nasty fortified wine, this will also close out my string of songs that might inspire me to put the gas pedal down:
"Night Train" - Guns 'n' Roses (Appetite for Destruction - 1987)
[yt=Night Train]KCX9MQyxmF4[/yt]
Ok, I'll be honest... I never got all the fuss about a pair of the bigger tracks from this album which came out over a year after its release because I had already been listening for most of the year before and decided what the best tracks were. To me those were, in no particular order: My Michelle, Mr. Brownstone and this. This is also reportedly many of the band members favorite tune to play.
Good choice. My third fave (best available) GNR song

Next Selection ..

Lifehouse - Everything

Incredible Song, I would have picked it earlier but I figured it'd still be here .. Lifehouse is a real solid band these days and this is by far my favorite of them all.. good easy listening..

Never heard that song before, but I like it.

Yeah they are -- and while I typically snort with farily powerful disdain at Christian based rock groups, they've always managed to keep it toned down and in the case of a song like this intentionally vague or universal whether they are talking about the person you love, or spiritual love. Its a beautiful song, and of course I interpret it solely in real human terms.

Pick #12, and now for something completely different. Another great song of old, with a nice guitar line and swell vocals too. Great pick for the downer days when you really wish that you weren't actually stuck on a desert island. Everybody has those days, where it was probably better that you just stayed in bed.

Pick # 12 is Everyody Hurts (R.E.M.) Automatic for the People 1992

REM - Everybody Hurts

Good pick, Jespher...I'm obviously on board with that one.

My next pick...

Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town - Pearl Jam - Vs.

Pearl Jam's lack of videos required me to find a live performance:

[yt=Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town]paQOO0KnLGA[/yt]

With bands like Pearl Jam, I have a difficult time picking favorites. There are so many ways I could go here, but I seem to be trending towards simple songs, so I submit this one. I've seen them perform this song at several concerts, and it's one that gets just about every single person in the audience singing along...loudly. Especially on the line, "I just want to scream...HELLO!!" Great, simple song that puts Eddie Vedder's haunting voice on display.

Wierd....Ive had Lifehouse's singles in my itunes ever since they came out but about a week ago i decided to download there entire discography and ever since ive been linstening to the thing religiously....It just find it pretty interesting you'd choose this song right when i start to get really into them.

Yeah, I knew I was up.

My next pick:

[yt=Lola]IMsnqQHOwFg[/yt]

Lola - The Kinks - Lola vs. Powerman

A song about a real-life experience where a band member went home unknowingly with a transvestite named Lola. What could be better?

OK, going for another American Idol here. I told Brick she was on my iPod, but not an entire album I'd want to take:

Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway

My next pick is.....

Master of Puppets - Metallica - Metallica (album)

There last few albums have been really dissapointing but there older stuff is without a doubt some of the best rock music to ever surface.

Considering the theme of the draft and the name of this song, I'm surprised it's still here. Nonetheless...

Island In The Sun - Weezer - Weezer (The Green Album)

I really considered this song for my 12th pick. Perfect theme for being stranded on a desert island...breakaway and escape.

Apparently Proph is gone till tomorrow evening. I am assuming that she did not send anyone her picks. Being as that she will time out anyways, I am going to send Slim a PM that it is his pick. She can catch up upon her return.

Okay... since the commissioner says so. But, let it be stated for the record, I am only proceeding with my pick based on the belief that the commissioner has made his ruling based on actual knowledge that Proph will not be online this weekend. In the event that this turns out to not be the case, I will be happy to withdraw this selection at Proph's request. Anyway, with my twelfth pick, I select:

Money For Nothing - Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms - 1984

She is gone. She left her car picks with me, but I am going to be out of town the next couple days so she also sent the car picks to VF21. Maybe her iPod pick is with VF too?

VF said no. I doubt anyone will pick her pix anyhow. She can still have her pick if it gets to the end of the round. Brick is up.

Ok, am uncommonly concerned at this point about a couple of mid to late round picks of mine getting snagged by the two unpredictable chaps behind me on this end of the snake, so time to clear one of them off:

Since U Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway (2004)

Well Bozz, you can never say I did not dangle this for you. ;) However it really does remain a fun female pop/rock fav for me, and I always love a lady singing a song with a bit of a 'tude. And with Warhawk suddenly deciding to invoke her name...time to take it off the board. Fun video too.

P.S. As an aside, is the band you are working with who cover this called A Day To Remember?

Just an FYI - I will be gone from tomorrow afternoon until Monday night. I don't think I will be back up that soon, but if I am, just skip me and I'll catch up.

I am switching gears yet again so with my next pick I select:

O Fortuna - Carl Orff - Carmina Burana

[yt=O Fortuna]j3kvtl59jY4[/yt]

This song gets me through the Monday mornings. I love listening to this piece on my way to work in the mornings it makes me think I am going to do something to special.

1) that piece has always been special in its passion, and has been the default choice of a thousand different movie trailer makers;

2) but is it legal in this draft? Not trying to be a party pooper -- its pretty much an everything goes draft, but I'm fuzzy on the classical rules. Could I take Beethoven's entire Symphony No.5?

It should it has been been recorded many times. This operatic piece even won the 1987 Grammy Award for Best Choral Performance. Also this is the full version not the one that has been in many movies.

Okay, well, given that I do not want to unneccesarily delay things, and that I basically am responsible for the next two picks (first Bozz's, then mine), I am going to go ahead and just assume there is no problem pending a ruling by Kingzrool, and get those other picks up.
