Trade for Rondo??

The Knicks have been mentioned as a team that could go after Rondo and the Kings were also connected to him during the offseason, but after the moves for Rudy Gay and Derrick Williams they may not want to give up more players and picks for him.

Not sure how you could possibly interpret that to mean anything relevant.

Rondo might be ideal solution for Kings. One trade scenario that works is MT, JT and IT for Rondo straight and his $12-$13M contract. That assumes the SG slot gets some help as this leaves only Ben as a true SG with Rudy able to step into the slot when DWill comes in to play PF or they go big with Cuz and Gray. Rondo needs scorers to pass to so Cuz, Rudy and Ben fill that need. Jimmer then backs Rondo and DWill becomes the PF with Acy backing him. Then there is poor ole Outlaw. Good in spurts but not enough spurts and even his paltry $3M is no attraction to other teams. Heck of a rebounder tho.

But I have tuff time seeing why C's would do this. All are relatively young players not yet at their primes, gives them a backcourt and JT might do really well in the weaker east.

Don't we lose a scorer if IT leaves? What are we getting with rondo that will really make us better.

Without a real back up solution I'm not sure it matters.

toughness. veteran leadership. innate playmaking ability. defense. oh, and defense. and also defense. etc.

If the end of the game probably. I just worry we will have the same backup issues. Hopefully, the draft will help.

I see progress and it is hard to be patient. Would Rondo be patient?

We would rather have backup issues than starter issues. Isaiah lacks the mental focus and mental discipline to execute properly in crunch times.

He is more stable I suppose. IT has disappointed recently...and he is five foot nothing.

We have Cousins and Gay to do scoring for us. If McLemore gets better, he'll take over as the #3 option. Plus defense is what's important here. Getting Rondo would be huge although I don't think Ainge will be willing to let him go.

The Celtics have a decent little core right now in Rondo, Bradley, Green, and Sullinger. Plus they have like a million first round picks coming in the next 5 years. They have a bright future and I'm sure Ainge won't be willing to give him up that easily.

His heart is in right place. At the ends of games he thinks how he can win the game. Instead he should be thinking how WE can win the game. Look at your matchups play your picks take shot if its there don't look for your shot. Look for who has a shot who has the upper hand in a matchup.

The OKC game was what I meant. Now would rondo have done better because everyone would be involved? Hard to say.

The team might have done better. The reason is that Rondo has, one would hope, enough bball credibility to call Cousins out. Probably need more vets though.

I actually think Rondo and Cousins are a lot a like. Rondo just had the luxury of playing with 3 HOFers who kept him in check during his most immature years.

I don't think there would be an issue. I actually think they'd be pretty good friends, if they aren't already. People fight on the basketball court with people they like off the court all the time. When you're in the game you're in the game. It's hard to think of that person outside of that setting in the moment.

We would be gaining a player that can cut off the dribble penetration of opposing point guards. Our inability to stop dribble penetration is probably our biggest weakness at the moment.

Rondos competitiveness is off the charts too. He is one of those players that hates to loose and doesn't care about making friends on the court

Does anyone know if rondo and cousins are friends from the UK connection.

Who cares if they're friends? I want guys who WANT to win, who get angry when they don't win and push each other to be better. I couldn't possibly care less if they're friends.

Rondo + DMC + a guy named Isiah Thomas.
Let's go retro and turn this team into the Bad Boys of the West.

Time to trade next year's first round pick to the Celtics together with Thornton and JT.
Next season is a win now season for DMC no point rooting for a lottery pick.

Get Rondo now to learn the plays with Gay and DMC. And aim for at least a second round of the playoffs next season.
I'm just getting tired of rooting for a great lottery picks for a decade now.

Yeah, you give up that draft pick and you're giving away a rim protector (which are extremely hard to find in the NBA).
Without a rim protector, you can't make the playoffs. If you do, it's a first round exit.
So, good luck with that.
