Trade for Hibbert - make it happen! (title changed)

I disagree, Cousin's has the toolset to be a monster at PF, plus it keeps him away from injuries. I've been aching for a big center to pair with Cousins to see what havok he can create. Notice how good his midrange game while being contested all the time? Now imagine if he's able to get free from the paint. We could see him become Dirk-esque with his jumper.

If the NSA wasn't watching I would offer to drive down to the airport myself and run Roy Hibbert over as he got off the plane before I'd let him, or anybody else, chase Boogie out of the paint to become a wussyass jumpshooter. His jumper is deadly as a counter up top, but that's what it is, a counter. And if he were truly going to be checked by PFs, even moreso. Post him up and watch him run the runts down inside. In fact that would be my greatest joy, over his young career he has done exactly that whenever anybody tries to guard him with a smaller/physically weaker player. He's already showing he can be a HOF caliber offensive center, but its possible, not a sure thing, but possible that if you start getting him guarded by David West and Paul Milsap that he could be one of the all time dominant offensive PFs. The Shaq of the PF set.

Fortunately Hibbert has indifferent little 15ft jumpshots from either angle that are actually more effective then his bumbling fumbling post work at the rim, so no real need for Cousins to vacate the middle. Post left, Hibbert on angle on right. Post right, and vice versa. But it would be interesting to see how that was guarded. People might not care about the 7'2" guy shooting over their PFs and continue to guard Cuz with their Cs.

I meant with his jumper, not with his overall play. Would be a shame to see the last 3 years of his center play go to waste considering he is getting pretty nifty around the basket.

Wouldn't imagine we'd see any real difference with Hibbert in vs JT on the offensive side of the ball.

I can see Larry Bird demanding, in any trade for Hibbert, a young player with upside, Ben McClemore could be a back up plan at SG in case they can't resign Lance Stephenson.

Ben is pretty much the polar opposite of Lance Stephenson as a player (and as a person but let's not push ourselves down that set of stairs). Lance was pretty much serving the Doug Christie role for them as the lead defender and essentially lead guard when Paul George wasn't getting the ball.

Agreed, Hibbert will be in play if the Love deal happens and depending on what happens with Stephenson. If Stephenson gets away and Cleveland gets Love the Kings should be throwing anything they can at Indi to try to get Hibbert, because at that point you'd have to think they would want to retool quickly before George's new deal comes up.

Offensively, my issue with Boogie/Hibbert on offense and having Hibbert at the high post on the other side is that while Roy can pass the ball, I don't trust him driving from the high post. So he's going to have to be able to nail that jumper to run that high-low action.
