Kenny Thomas. I'd say Jason Hart. But, he could be filler in some other deal. Kenny's contract is just hard to move period.

I agree... Getting rid of kenny is key for two reasons. First, we would lose his bad contract and second, we would lose his bad attitude.

I don't see the point of a lot of people wanting Hart he hell out of here. He's on a 1mill. contract with that only left, and likely won't be a main guy if he stays here. But his defense, hustle, and tenacity would be a value for us off the bench sometimes. If not, he can a throw in for a trade. With Musselman he'd be utilized better than Adelman because of Musselman's mind-set.
Jason Hart isn't hurting us. No need to get all over him for nothing. It's not like he's a horrible player or a bad attitude guy or has a ridiculous contract.

jason does hurt us, he lost the game for us in orlando, starigh up plain and simple we would have won that game if he wasn't such a moron on defense. I dont like to bash players, I live closer to oakland then to sacto so i choose to like sacto because when i became a fan of nba sacto had a good cast of players that i liked, im a fan of the players on the kings team not the team as a whole, that being said until jason hart theres never been a player i didnt like that played for the kings. I liked brinna skinner, and even katie tohmas, but jason hart is a straight loser he lost two games for us single handidly which culd have mad us the 7th seed and who knows what would have happened, maybe we would have been swept or mayber we would have gone to 7 game instead of 6, but without a doubt i would drop jason hart from the nba. I love nba players im probably the only person with a hedo jersey, if you help the kings win i love you, but if your like jason and you lose games for us then he might as well bounce. Why do you think he didnt opt out of his contract and chase the dollar, casue there ain't no dollar to chase for jase

huh? i dont really understand what you meant, im not to school smart, but yaya i agree he has no attitude problem, but attitude doesnt matter if you CAN'T play basketball, im usually shocked when his shot goes down, and his defense isn't anything special, especially for someone whose supposed speciality is defensive abilities
You talked about the past of Jason Hart, I was talking about the present and future of Hart, and with the new direction and coach. Hence not being relevant to my first post.
Defense, hustle, and tenacity is what he's shown best so far with us. That's part of basketball, thus a role-player.
His play would of been better if he was used right, which he was not. Rick didn't make much of an adjustment with him.

If dumping implies "waiving" then it would obviously be Hart, if anybody. But he's an ending contract which might even be useful as a throw in in a trade, so only after exploring other opportuinites.

i never saw much tenacity from jason, i saw some defense but no enough to call him a defensive minded point guard, and hustle... you got to hustle if you got no game. ie ben wallace where would he be if he didnt hustle, nowhere he has no choice but to hustle becasue he has no game, just like jay hart
Then you didn't focus on Hart much when he was playing. As I did focus on Hart most of the time when he played during the season. Hart showed tenacity just about every time he played on defense - getting in a stance, getting up on his man, pushing off his man, quick-movement, trying to poke the ball. His defense, energy, length, 6'3" height, and hustle could be a nice thing to bring off the bench providing he stays around. Especially since Musselman likes to pressure the ball and puts a focus on defense. He also dove for loose balls, scrapped for rebounds, took charges numerous times on the year. The at Houston game being a perfect example in 2006, without Hart's contribution in the 4th qtr - we likely don't win that game.
Hustling and defense are a part of basketball. That means you're a role/team-player. Doesn't mean you don't have no game or skills, it means you're not a scorer or that skilled on offense. Ditto Ben Wallace, who is a 4-time defensive-player of the year, and has been on multiple All-NBA Defensive teams. Ben's combination of quickness, strength, and athleticism allows him to be a big factor and a presence on defense and rebounding.
Being a hustle and/or defensive player doesn't mean that player has no game, it means that is his game, role or what he is out there for.

Salmons is going to do the exact same thing he did in Philly...He's just not good enough to magically turn into anything more than the 7/3/3 man he was last year...And he's gonna be 27...It's not like hes a 23 year old with potentiall to take huge strides...He is what he is.

Well taking into account minutes per game. For both players in 32 minutes pergame (just happens to be a conveniant number from the two players split statistic profiles at yahoo sports):
Kenny averaged: 10.7pts 9.4reb 52%Fg 65%FT 2.4apg 2turnovers
Salmons averaged: 9.5pts 3.5reb 46%Fg 84%FT 4apg 2.4turnovers
The results still the same I would still keep Kenny over Salmons versatility. I wouldn't want either of them as starters.

I jump on Kenny because we owe him what seems like the GNP of a small country for the next 50 years, and he's about as exciting to watch as spilled paint.
- NEVER makes free throws in the clutch, or pretty much ever.
- NOT a team player, and regularly seems to look lethargic and uninspired
- Sheepish when it comes to going up on the boards against larger big men that sit and camp in the post, which is interesting since he seemed to be fine with it for about 15 games last year.
- A boring player that might be the most replaceable part on the team.
With the current configuration, and especially if Bonzi had come back, it seemed like K9 would contribute the same style of production that we already got. I see what Petrie wanted with Songaila- a big man that can shoot, hustle, and create. Which, ironically, seem like the 3 things KT never does. With SAR, Songaila (too bad he's gone), or other, there is the possibility for a big that can score and give another outside scoring option. Kenny basically prevents the Kings from leaving more than two players on the wings, which is where teams seem to be the most lethal in our Conference.
Here's another fun game- everytime Grant or Jerry says "He's lethal from right on that arc", see if he makes it. He misses at least 92% of the time.
