I finally won an auction at ebay - I've been trying to get my hands on a rare Justin Hayward CD from 1989 and was outbid at the last minute last week. Another seller had a copy for sale, and this time I won! I'm so looking forward to receiving it - it's the last piece for my collection.

my cousin graduated from the university of texas with a degree in biochemistry yesturday so we went out and celebrated last night. it was a great time, of course i am paying dearly for it today

I'm back at work after a week-long vacation in New York. Back to reality now :( Not only that, but my sleep was interrupted last night by late-night partyers in my apartment complex's pool, being very loud and disruptive. And then I couldn't get back to sleep for over an hour. Some people have absolutely zero consideration for their neighbors.

Yup, I remember those days/nights of apartment living ..... can be a drag. Where was the apartment landlord - at this hour ????
Our landlord does not live on site. We've never had a landlord who has lived on site. That tends to only happen with the really small, individually-owned apartment complexes. Mine is a large, corporately-owned one. We have a 24 hr. security service whom we call to deal with problems such as loud, midnight partyers.

There's very little that a landlord/onsite manager can do about a noise complaint while it's happening. Best bet is always the cops in that situation.
We just recently had our first Neighborhood Watch meeting, attended by a couple of cops. Basically, the cops told us that they will not come to the complex for just a noise complaint. They only come over when there is something criminal or potentially criminal happening-such as drug use, fighting, etc.

Yeah, I know that routine.

Did they throw in the sarcastic "if you're lucky" at the end, or did they wait until they were outside of earshot?

What is Pampered Chef?
Pampered Chef is a business that has wonderful kitchen products that have lifetime guarantees.

One of my favorite things to use is the Chillzane(R)Rectangle Server, it's a reversible freezable tray that you can either use to hold deviled eggs or use for a veggie tray. Those who came to the housewarming saw it. It's terrific! Keeps things cold for over 2 hours.

They have all sorts of things, measuring stuff, cooking stuff, cutting stuff, specialized cooking tools, etc.

If anyone else wants more info, they can pm me.

The cops.

As in: "We'll come out if there is something criminal, or potentially criminal, happening... if you're lucky."
Actually, they've been pretty good so far, not that there's been much criminal activity to report at my place. One time a couple of years ago, we had skinny-dipping pot smokers in the pool whom I called the cops on, and they came right over. Probably helps that the sheriff's office is right down the street too, though.

There was skinny-dipping going on and you stopped it?

What the??

:p

Okay, y'all. I'm taking off for a week, so I'd appreciate if everyone would refrain from posting anything witty and/or insightful until I get back.

If you're dying to start a thread about trading Mike Bibby for a skunk, two badgers and a box of graham crackers, now would be a great time for it.

Thanks ever so,
Gadget.

I just discovered why I have been feeling so poorly...especially later in the day (each day). It seems that I am only taking 10% of the thyroid medicine that I should be taking. It's a long story. Needless to say, I am calling the doctor first thing tomorrow to point out the error. :(

6th-what did the doctor say?

I'm almost to my goal of booking 5 shows for June, I have 3 so far!
Left a message with the nurse. Doctor will call me this afternoon, but I expect it will be after I leave for the Monarchs game. Fortunately, I gave them my cell #.
