Is there any realistic reason to hope Knight fall to 7th?

Regarding the lottery discussion, I think maybe the lottery should be adjusted so the worst team has a better chance than 25% to get the #1 pick. I'd say at least 1/3. Or maybe capping the lottery to worst 5 to 10 teams? Or maybe just have the worst 3 or 4 teams have an even shot at the top 3-4 picks and everyone else just picks where they are in order? I just don't like it when the 13th worst team (for example) still has a shot at the #1-3 picks. And solidifying the draft order at the All-Star game would probably maybe be OK with me as well.
Well, I suppose it's not impossible. Let's throw this scenario out there:
Cleveland - Kyrie Irving (BPA)
Minnesota - Derrick Williams (BPA)
Utah - Kawhi Leonard (empty cupboard at SF, sorry Hayward!)
Cleveland - Enes Kanter (have no center)
Toronto - Kemba Walker (choose Kemba over Knight)
Washington - Jan Vesely (supposedly high on him)
Kings - Brandon Knight
That's not too far out of the pale. But I think it would absolutely depend on the Jazz not going for a PG at #3 and the Raptors choosing Kemba at #5. Washington at #6 (Wall) and Cleveland at #4 (Irving) won't pick PGs, nor will Minnesota at #2 (Williams BPA).
I think my worst-case scenario is:
Cleveland - Kyrie Irving
Minnesota - Derrick Williams
Utah - Brandon Knight
Cleveland - Enes Kanter
Toronto - Kemba Walker
Washington - Kawhi Leonard
Kings select between Biyombo, Valanciunas, Motiejunas, Vesely, ???
In that scenario, I don't know what we do. There's a guess that Valanciunas might stay in Europe for a year, and I know we're looking for help now. Motiejunas seems soft, Vesely can't shoot, Biyombo is an athletic specimen but has zero offensive game and is likely redundant if both Dalembert and Whiteside are back. I'm not as high on Jordan Hamilton as some here, not at #7. If that happens I think I wouldn't be unhappy about trading down.
In fact, my feeling right now is that Irving, Williams, and Kanter cannot fall to us. If neither Knight nor Leonard fall, I'm not high on the options left (including Kemba) and I'd be down for a trade of the pick. Fortunately, Kemba, Valanciunas, Vesely, and Biyombo might catch somebody's eye above us and allow one of the Knight/Leonard target to fall. Right now, I think that's much more likely Leonard, though.

The danger of doing that, under the current system, is that teams that are fringe-lotto at the All-Star game can end up in the playoffs by the end of the year.

In your second scenario, I'd be happy taking Biyombo. My fear is that its Kemba that falls. I think he'd be a terrible fit here.

I'm not sure he's a terrible fit. Of course he's ball dominant, but he was asked to take more shots at UConn this year. And in all the games I watched, I was pretty impressed with his ability to come off screens and knock down the jumper. And having Kemba as our 6th man would be great. I compare him a lot to Barea. Also a scoring point guard, undersized but having excellent quickness and athleticism. We would have to figure out what to do with Beno though in case we're drafting point guard.

Broken would imply that it was meant to "work". Can't be broke if it's doing exactly what it's designers intend.
I'm convinced it's rigged now. But I also think that Dan Gilbert is a smart mother****er for coming up with the best story line.
Next time we should send a dying girl scout with cancer doing a make-a-wish field trip to fulfill her biggest dream winning the NBA lottery for the the Kings, and doing it as a fundraiser for starving children in China (the NBA's next market).
In all honesty, Nick Gilbert did seem like a pretty cool kid.
Yeah, I know, but maybe that is why you limit it to 5-10 worst teams? They wouldn't make the jump. There are pluses and minuses to every scenario you can devise.....

He's not ball dominant. He shared the ball handling duties at UCONN. He moves well without the ball and he doesn't need it in his hands every minute to justify his existence on the floor.

I knew the Barea run would have poeple high on Kemba. Let's not forget JJ is averaging 17 minutes a game. I know it's a weak draft, but I think we can do better than 17-minute bench sparkplug with the pick.

The odds were against moving up, but 2 years falling as low as was possible and this year falling almost as low as possible had to have some pretty low odds, too. Not as bothered this year, but.......*sigh*

If it was rigged Cleveland would have gotten the 1st pick and we would have gotten the 2nd. Cleveland needs the most fanfare and in need of an actual star. We need help to drum up the arena. Utah did not need to be in there.
I don't want to re-type it here, but I came up with a scenario I thought was pretty realistic yesterday and posted it here. I like Knight a lot too, I think he's the third best prospect in the draft, and there are a few factors working in our favor. Of the 6 teams picking before us, Cleveland has two picks and probably won't take two point guards. Washington is happy with Wall at PG and needs talent everywhere else. Toronto is happy with Bayless I think and needs talent almost everywhere else. Minnesota has Rubio and Flynn already but if Cleveland goes for Williams instead of Irving with the first pick, they probably pick Irving anyway. It's unlikely Knight falls to us in that scenario.

Sometimes I think it's rigged too. But this years lottery completely goes against any rigging theories. You can make up story line reasons for basically any team getting a top pick, "reasons" people making for this year are absolutely ridiculous. If it was rigged for storyline reasons Kings would have a top 2 pick this year.

I don't think it's rigged either (I think) but sacramento has had it's share of headlines already. They could say we are lucky to have a team at all. Cleavland really got screwed when Lebron left them. They are averaging 20k fans a game and were left in the lurch big time. Even with 2 top 4 picks it won't make up for it. Not in this years draft. It could also be said we have a good start in Cousins and Reke. Also with the Kings finances in question do we really need a number one or two pick? If you think about it logically we got just about the right pick. Especially with Petrie on our side.
My two cents on the draft. If we can't get a good passing PG I like Biyombo. We would have a good center with a huge upside. We have some pretty good perimiter shooters, a great PF in Cousins and some quick play makers who can get to the paint with Reke and Udrih.

Probably doesn't have the athleticism to be a full time PF. Plus, Biyombo is a PF. No need to switch them around if we were to draft him.

Thanks. I made some assumptions. With Biyombo having a 7'7" wing span and the way he plays I assumed he would be center. Demarcus I was told he plays both Center and PF. I still have a lot to learn about the game.

You have to be careful who you learn it form -- DeMarcus was playing PF for us the entire second half of the year. Ther key factor there was Dalembert. Cousins DOES have the offensive game to play PF. He has the offensive game in fact to likely dominate at PF. And when he's there you are just overwhelming with size/rebounding. Its a huge edge to be able to twin tower somebody. But the key guy is Dalembert, because he's a center who can anchor the middle defenisvely, but who also has the athleticism and mobility to take those tough PF matchups instead of Cousins.
On offense, there is no problem. Cousins can play PF or C on offense, and yes, there is some Webb to his game. As a rebounder Cousins can play PF or C. The difficulty is on defense. Therefore what you need from a person paired with Cousins is:
1) a shotblocker able to anchor your interior defense, ala Noah, Chandler, Ibaka/Perkins etc. (it ain't coincidence all the remmainging teams have them)
2) a mobile defender able to guard more mobile PFs that COusins doesn't matchup well with
With Dalembert, you have both of those areas covered. He's a rare player in that. Chandler is a free agent and could do both of those as well. But few players can do both. There are big cetners who cna do #1 but not #2. there are PFs who can do #2 but not #1. But we already have/had one of the rare guys who can do both #1 and #2.
Biyombo is only listed at 6'9". We'd be getting a lot smaller. Basically unless he is actually able at that size to shut down the middle ala a Dalembert, you are losing in the deal if that's the swap.

I'm not sure how you define who plays the C and PF position, but if night in and night out I see one guy guarding the opposing team's C and the opposing team's C guarding that guy, then I consider him a C and I consider the one consistently guarding and guarded by the PF a PF. In reality, it doesn't matter which slot you put either guy at, just that they function well together.

Bismack Biyombo is currently listed at 6'9" 243 lbs. He should grow at bit more since he's only 18 - born Aug. 28, 1992. That date of birth is apparently not confirmed and some believe he's actually 16 or 17.

I think 25-26 or even 23-24 are the most wildy speculative as most think he's absolute max 20 and many are in the 18 or bit under camp. An M.D. in Spain who examined him when Biyombo first arrived to play professionally concluded he was definitely only 16 or 17 at that time. Surprised I saw 3 different mock drafts having us taking Kanter. Seems a number of people think he could fall to us, or even deeper. In fact 2 of those mocks have us passing on Kanter. I could definitely see one of Kanter/Knight/Walker falling to us. Don't want Walker though.
