So Ordinary That It's Truly Quite Extraordinary

don't normally visit this thread but kind of wild seeing the Vivek posts showing a guy dedicated to building in Sacramento and knowing a large chunk of the fan base hates him because Sacramento sports media hasn't said a kind word about him since he said something stupid one time when Anjali was playing middle school basketball.

This has been such a long time coming. Been an A’s fan since I was 7-8 years old. In August 1987 Sacramento sent 21,000 people (my family included) on buses to take over the coliseum and an A’s/Yankees game during the March on Baseball, something I’ll never forget. This has been a baseball town since I was a wee thing and we are about to show MLB how much we love this sport. I know the A’s aren’t staying here but I never thought I would be going to opening day baseball here in my hometown. The A’s are young, exciting, and they play hard which is all this city really asks for. Take note kings, this young exciting squad is about to win over this city BIGTIME.

I already see some of the cubs pitchers complaining about playing in a triple AAA park and how they would rather be in Oakland. “This is stupid”.
Oh yeah, in front of 5,000 fans. But at least you’re playing in a huge stadium. Man, get outta here with that BS. You’re getting paid millions to play a game. How about you just keep your crap to yourself and just enjoy the better atmosphere.

Hah, I forgot about that kid. He was a high-level catching prospect; my son actually worked directly with his catching coach. I had to drive my son to Lodi once a week. It was awful...but worth it!
