I do not want anyone named Maloof associated with the new ownership of the Kings. George is the fall guy but that doesn't absolve Joe and Gavin of complicity in my mind. They have poisoned the well so badly that their name is forever tainted. The average guy on the street doesn't understand the distinction between them and, truth be told, neither do I. For all I know, they're playing the world's longest-lasting game of good brother/bad brother.
We've all asked the question on why George gets to overrule Joe and Gavin. Perhaps he's not overruling them. Perhaps it's all part and parcel of how the Brothers Maloof do business. They lie with impunity and don't feel they should be held accountable, much less have to give rational reasons for irrational acts.
Is them retaining a 2% share of the Kings a dealbreaker for me? Nope, but I hope they never make the mistake of occupying their cushy seats or box at STA again. At some point, making excuses for them or forgiving them is no longer possible. For me, that time came after they looked straight into the camera and said they weren't selling the team and they wanted to stay in Sacramento. They reminded me of the emperor who strutted down the street, expecting all the peasants to bow and scrape and compliment him on his incredible new clothes.
Sorry Maloofs, but you're not wearing any clothes and quite frankly, it's not a pretty sight.
