man i dont want to play the mavs in the first round to many matchup problems i always have a weird feeling in my stomach when we play them.houston has a chance to grab that 5th seed.check out dallas upcoming schedule-after chicago its a 5 game road trip starting with sac seattle golden state phoenix then utah then 2 home games against the kings and phoenix again then after new orleans another 3 game road trip against the la teams and houston.thats pretty tough.who thinks they are gonna survive that i dont think so.houston would be a nice warmup round for us.

i heartily agree. i wouldnt really mind the kings playing dallas so much in the first round, but it would be a fantastic little warmup for the kings to play houston instead. i guarantee it would be shorter, too. dallas is still a good team, and a 7-game first round series isnt what the kings need to start the playoffs.

I think we can handle the Mavs. I think we can handle anyone else in the West, outside of San Antonio and possibly Phoenix. Once we get going (which might be a couple of weeks, depending on how we do on this road trip) we're going to be a force to be reckoned with, I think.

I don't care what order we see our opponents in. Just as long as we're somewhat healthy and all on the same page this time around. We still need to work on the glass and our interior defense, but I think we'll see some improvements in those areas as well in the next month or so.

So bring on the Mavs. We can handle them.

I would love to see Dallas in the first round. If we can't get past them, we don't deserve to go any further.

:p

lol so true^ That being said, Dallas Is a better team than Houston. And If we don't have the Spurs till the WCF so be it. I'd much rather get Bobby back for a run at them.

Oh come on -- why not the Mavs? They are kind of our annual whipping boys. Little different mix for them this year, but I'm not significantly more worried about them than I have been.Want to avoid the Spurs until the WCF if possible, otherwise let the chips fall where they may. Everyone poses certain problems for us, nobody but the Spurs should be able to beat us in a 7 game playoff series. In fact team #2 I amconcerend about would actually be the Wolves, despite thier awfulness right now, just because they've proven they can beat us. But who knows if they'll even make the playoffs, and if they do what shape they'll be in.

true^...

If playoff starts today, then the most likely match-ups are:
Kings vs. Dallas (1st rd)
Kings vs. Spurs (2nd rd)
Kings vs. Suns (WCF)

if the suns grab the number 1 seed we kind of have a easy road to the wcf.one more thing does anybody think we will make one more trade and if so who

Keep in mind their is a lot of time for seeding to change.

I like our chances against Dallas
-they(Mavericks) still can't play No 'D'
- their is a good chance that the kings will get the home court
- the mavs lost Nash-terry and harris are good but they have not filled the void Nash left
- Dampier ain't that good
- Dirk can't play no D

I Will put the Kings starting frontcourt up against anybody.
Bibby is the best guard between the 2 teams

there is no such thing as a easy road to the Conference finals (No offence)
Damn, who would of thought Minnesota would be out of the playoffs @ this point of the season

GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-remember kings fans: the mavs are just a cheaper version of the kings and the Fakers(lakers) lost to a bad team, the Hawks today. Putting the lakers further behind us.

Good post.

we definitely need to get past phoenix and grab that 2 seed....the lakers or rockets sound a lot better than going toe to toe with the mavs in the first round.... they could upset the suns.... but the suns would kill the rockets or lakers.... hopefully the twolves dont make it.... which is a possibility....

Which I don't like.

This is why I want us to catch the Suns and get a #2 or #3 seed (assuming Spurs hold on for #1 and who knows there). Don't really care who we meet in Rnd 1 as long as its not the Wolves, but don't want to meet the Spurs until the WCF for a variety of reasons -- Bobby will be healthier the later in the playoffs we go, if Suns make it to WCF they will be riding high on confidence + better if they get KO'd in Rnd 2 etc. Put off the showdown until both teams are ready for it and firmly established as THE two juggernaughts ready to lock horns.

If you want to talk about one more trade, you'd probably be better off starting a new thread.

;)

bring on dallas. bring on the spurs. bring on the suns. or the woofs, or the lala laker WHOEVER BRING THEM ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dallas isn't that big of a deal to me. the kings can take them out YET AGAIN. dirk is amazing, but we have a pretty damn good PF ourselves on the kings, who happens to own the mavs. no more nashty, damp is a BUST!! and has no playoff experience. brad is *SO* much better then he is, has proven so much more. got bibby hitting the clutch shots, peja for 3, cat being a pest, yah i'm liking the sound of that.

If Malone signs with the Spurs tommorrow, the Malone Law will be invoked, thus ensuring that San Antionio will not win the NBA title. So, I am for any scenario that leads to Kings-Spurs WCF.

ya know before when i thought of Dallas i thought

Dirk/Nash/Finley...hmm good trio

but now when i think Dallas i think

Dirk...and i don't think thats enough

they have a few veterans...they still have Finley and they have Dampier and they also have Shawn Bradley who is also a great contributor...LOL....sorry i couldn't resist that....but after that they have a bunch of young kids with little to zero playoff experience...i mean they are getting it down record wise....right smack in the middle...but....
In recent years they definetly had the weapons but this year i really don't think they do...and i love Jason Terry ALMOST as much as i love Mike Bibby from their Arizona years and all but i don't think he's gonna be able to successfully run that basketball team in a playoff environment...and the Rook Devin Harris (thats the kids name right) has done big things this year...but come playoff time everything changes

i personally can't wait til Friday when we get to play them again...ive been salavating over a chance to play them again after our loss to them on opening night...i don't think they'll be prepared for us...::shakes head::

can anybody tell me whats wrong with signing keon clark is he even playing basketball, does he hate sacto or what whats the deal.

Still a little to early for this talk IMO.

At this point in the season I would rather have the Mavs then most of the other playoff contenders in the west.

Keon is a malcontent. I don't think he is even playing in the league this year.

Just signed with Cleveland last week as I recall. Cloud of smoke probably blew in right after him when he entered the locker room.

Didn't even last, they signed Jerome Moiso instead.

Keon is still at home smoking his life away.
