Kings got the "X"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
On April 18th 2004 the PO already started and Kings as usual played Mavs. Kings won the game one 116 - 105 and later the series 4-1. Kings owned Mavs. Pedja lead the Kings with 28/8/1/2st, Webber had 26/12/3/2/1, 21/8/11/2, Mike had 14/4/7/2, Vlade had 12/2/2. AP had 11 off the bench.
Doug Christie's defense gave the Sacramento Kings a spark. Christie had a terrific all-around game and spearheaded a rare defensive surge in the fourth quarter as the Kings pulled away from the Dallas Mavericks for a 116-105 victory in their Western Conference first-round series opener. Christie just missed a triple-double with 21 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, picking up the slack for backcourt mate Mike Bibby , who struggled early. But Christie's biggest boost came on defense, considered an afterthought in this series.
"If Doug can't inspire you, nobody will," Webber said. "He's my pick for Defensive Player of the Year. ... He definitely influences us. He is our defense. We go as he goes. So he definitely inspires us."

Kings @ 43-38 took care of making the PO and now need to give Lakers a small chance to choke. Kings won 8 of the last 10 games finishing very strong down the strech. Don't think that Hornets care and they don't need to. we had it in our hands and couldn't keep it. There was a point this season where we were 8 games below .500 and the second last in the conference. We have come a long way from there. Can't really complain. (Well I can but I shouldn't - nah who am I kidding ?)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all let me appologize for the fact that this thread does not satisfy high standards of some "members" since we had a complaint - recently. Appereantly, the thread is missing SAT vocabulary, grammar is off, we don't quote famous scientists, authors, we don't wait for our turn to post etc. Also we are not working hard on "cracking the meaning of life" Shame on us. Appearantly we only care about Kings winning and we hate the Lakers. I wasn't aware that anything else matters in here. I was thinking of ways to improve quality of the context so that we could be more apealing to the rocket scientists who are deeply concerned about what is going on around here. Actually I wasn't - because I don't give a damn.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
We got nothing to lose. 8th seed would have to win many games on the road to ge far in the post season in addition to protecting home floor against the best teams. Expecting anything but their best effort would be asking too much. It doesn't mean that it can't be done - it just means that it probably won't. Last season we thought that we had a chance against Sonicg and we didn't. This year we aren't that optimistic. Who knows what it is good for
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
That brings me to the guarantee given by Ron Artest that we will pass the first round. As previously concluded - the pills that Ron is taking have some serious side effects. Usually there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance. woth Ron it is more confidence vs. insanity and it isn't a line - it is more like a blurry, gray area. Let me try it explaining Ron's thinking this way - " if I am right, I am right and if I am wrong , I could have been right so I am right in the first place and overall. Will that help us beating Spurs - of coure not but we will have some fun along this hopefully long series.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will just assume that we will play Spurs because Hornets really stopped compeating and they are thinking - fishing. We never played Spurs in the POs - so we never lost to them either. it will be fun and frustrating at the same time. Margin for error = 0 and they have the best "Kings killer collection" around. Considering the age of those guys - they could open a museum. They won't take us lightly because they have a great coach just like we do. They will have the refs but that is old news. They are also used to win. We got lost in translation and ended up here. Since we are here - we will try to make the best of it. Spurs know that we could give them a series that they might not like. The winner gets the Mavs and I am not sure that it is such a bad thing. The winner of that could get to play Clippers (unlikely but possible). We own the Clippers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ron, Bonzi, SAR, Cisco, Hart and a good portion of the Mateen crew will have a priviledge to wear Kings uniform in the post season. It is a priviledge because they will have an opportunity to experience ARCO in the PO mode. Crowd will provide energy and the players have to take advantage of it. Kings are hungry for many reasons. Let's just hope that we will be healthy too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
B. Bass won the TDM award last night. His line might not be that impressive 8/7/1st/2bl but he was one point shy of his career best. He tied career best in rebounding and steals and set his personal best in blocks. Unfortunately, there is plenty of room for improvement.
LW-VC award went to D Mason who had 8 pts (3-11) 2rb, 1a, 1 TO and a steel. He used to hurt us bad in the past. last night he looke human.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hornets played just like they would on a vacation. That is not a big deal because we would have won anyways. The bad thing is that tey will care even less tomorrow night. They were so bad that Artest, Wells & Hart did not commit any turnovers which is unheard of. We can't even say that both teams played hard. Well, at least noone got hurt that we know of.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We finish with Sonics. They finished our season a year ago and while it isn't even close to be even - it would be nice if we could "wish them nice vacation" and put one last bit of pressuere on Lakers. Also they beat us at ARCO last time we played and payback is a ...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bibby - stay healthy
Ron - take the pills, abuse Allen or Lewis and please shut up.
Brad - say hi to Luke if he stops by
SAR - now that You made it - make the best of it.
Bonzi - it is a contract year.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - find Your shot please and quickly
KT - more consistancy please
Cisco - use the back door to get out that doghouse. Do something.
Hart - what are the chance of him "proving" to Spurs that they should have kept him ?
the rest - Mateen
------------------------------------------------------------------------
RA - pleas don't overplay the starters. We don't need injuries
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sonics have been playing better lately. Allen and Lewis still their best options.Wilcox will defend the TDM. LW-VC goes to Luke and DFF gets the automatic one despite being injured. They can be dangerous if not taken seriously.
