So you want the Kings to get a backup center, OK who?

My solution would be Nick Collison. The Thunder now have Kristic, BJ Mullens and Etan Thomas so they might be willing to part with him.
Is that you Petrie?:p

Some fans are getting frustrated we got the 6' 9" May playing back-up center for Hawes. And now your solution to the problem is Nick Collison?

Oh, well. I am pretty sure some will think that idea is terrific just as some fans think Petrie is a genius. :D

We need to make a move now.. We cant go on without a backup center. I think we should just take a flyer on Robert Swift.. the dudes 7'1 and can block shots.. Just get it done already.

Well I would love to have Darko instead of Thomas, but I agree, why would the Knicks do that? They're both expiring contracts and to make matters worse, Thomas makes around a million more than Darko. I don't know if Darko is in their long range plans or not. It probably depends on how he plays this season. We would have to sweeten the pot in some way in order to make the deal. A future first down the road or, take back some of their other baggage they want to unload, which would probably require moving more than just Thomas. Not likely..

throw in a second round to sweeten the deal

I'm just a little old balloon popper.. heh heh heh heh!:p

yes.. yes you are!

but yah I wouldnt mind the Darko idea either.. The dude can block shots and really hasnt been given the proper chance to prove himself. Plus with maybe having somebody from Serbia back on the team we could lure Vlade back to become a big man coach or somethin??? (another dream.. please dont shatter it)

Oh Darko has been given chances. First chances, second chances, thrid chances...

A few years ago I was in favor of trying to grab him just in case he blew up. But after 6 years in the league and still no pulse...well, I'd certainly do it for KT, but I'm not holding my breath on anything special happening.

Well, I don't see Darko coming to the team this season. Anything is possible, but I doubt it. However, he is an unrestricted freeagent next off season, so I could see him arriving then. Of course the advantage of getting him now is that we would get a preview of how he fits, without any long term commitments.

There, I didn't totally shatter it..:)

maybe if felton gets injured we could somehow trade beno for diop. if we could trade nocioni for diop that would be cool. but how many cheap 7ft centers are there in the nba? kwame brown?

this is where having beno, nocioni and garcia hurts... our only movable player is thomas. no one is going to want beno, or nocioni because of their contracts. garcia is hurt... unless we are going to trade martin but then i would hope that we could get a better player than a back up center...

though i just dont know who we will be trying to sign next offseason, regardless of how much cash we will have that summer... nazr mohammed would be a nice but we would have the same problem... no one will want our garbage, even if its for their garbage...

i so called that one... he hurt his knee at in ot against the knicks. he kept playing though. i hope he isnt hurt. he had a good game and more dunks than tyreke has had all season. see pgs can dunk. i wonder if they'll want beno now? diop didnt even play....

How about Ian Mahimi? Spurs didn't pick up his contract for next year and he's a young and over 7'0. A few other options are Mouhamed Saer Sene and Robert Swift. Not exactly skill, but they're big and mobile.

Hey Collison always shoots over 50% FG, rebounds at a high rate and sets pretty good picks. And hey 0 Career 3 Pt attempts. He also plays 80% of minutes at center. I watch a lot of Thunder games because of Durant, and I think a player who already knows his role would be good for this team. He does not block a lot of shots, but there are no elite shot blockers to be had.

The problem with May is he is a jump shooting center with no lateral quickness, no shot blocking, no rebounding and cannot set a pick. Height itself does not make someone a shot blocker (see: Mikki Moore/Brad Miller)

Besides after all the drooling of 6'7" Blair, are we going to complain over 6'9"?

Robert Swift and mobile should never be in the same sentence. We destroyed his knee in preseason 2 years ago.

Mahimi missed all of last season with a bad ankle, which is not a good sign for a 23 year old.

Sene was waived by the Knicks so if there was anything there, I am sure they would have kept him.
