The man went into the bar with his son. It was his son's 21st birthday and they wanted to celebrate. The man sat down at the bar, reached down into his lap and sat a head on the bar. The bartender, for a moment, was agast. The father said, don't be alarmed, he was born this way and its his 21st birthday, so give us each a shot of whiskey. The father downed his and just after the son downed his, suddenly, poof, a body popped out. Excitedly he said, give me another one. He downed it and once again, poof, two arms popped out. Getting very excited now, he grabbed the bottle with his two new hands and poured himself a drink and downed it. and Wa La, sure enough, poof, two legs popped out.

The father and son looked at one another. Both started to cry. They hugged one another in joy. The son wiped his eyes, looked at the bartender and said, one more to celebrate the greatest day in my life. They both raised their glasses, nodded to one another and downed their drinks. And Poof, the son disappeared. The bartender looked sadly at the father who was in shock and said. He should have quit while he was a head......
Very good.:)

Why in God's name would we do this?

We can only play so many big men at a time and a frontcourt rotation that would somehow have to include Blatche, JT, McGee, Aldrich, and Landry would be mind-numbingly annoying and full of lower level starting/ benchie big men. All that we essentially have accomplished is turning this season's swingman glut into next season's bigman glut.

In my opinion, if we get the first pick, we either keep it and let things play out, or trade it off for some preestablished stud big (we're talking freaking Howard or Pau level bigmen, not Andre Blatche) or trade down for a crapload of picks to come in later years.

After the team was blown up, Blatche averaged 20.8pts 8.2reb 3.5ast 1.4stl 0.9blk on 48% shooting as a starter for the last half of the season (36 games). I'm sure that is the theory there -- he might BE a star. I've touted his potential for years, and then, *boom*! Now of course whether that's good numbers on a bad team stuff is very much open to question -- he just reeks of doesn't get it. But it was such a spectacular blowup that by the end of the year he was putting up numbers right there with Amare, Bosh, Pau, Big Al etc.

Also of course why there is no way in hell Washington trades him, unless the conflicts/immaturity and personality issues become acute. All these trade proposals to get Blatche or Curry or Noah or whoever...you just have to look at it from both sides. Young top talents are generally not going anywhere barring a problem with their team.

Petrie

Yeah Petrie will just take his guy and call it a night.
Exactly. Petrie always has something up his sleeve. It'll be interesting if we get the number one pick. If we do, Wall can play point and rotate with Beno while Evans plays the 2. The question is, will it work? Evan Turner is a great player too. So Petrie has a tough decision.

I watched the game where Blatche went off on Garnett. Very impressive. I then read where one of the NBA scouts that had watched the game said that Garnett is finished. That if he were back to his old self, Blatche never would have been able to abuse him like that. There's no doubt that Blatche has talent. I'm not totally sold that he's as good as he appears right now, but who knows. He certainly thinks he is. That can be a good thing, and it can also be a bad thing. Only the shadow knows...

honestly, you guys are tripping if your " not sold" on mcgee. The guy averaged 1.7 blocks in 15mins a game!!. look at his games when he had 20+ minutes, his rebounding and blocking numbers are amazing, heck he even has some good scoring games too. And dont u remember what he did against the kings? he had like 15 blocks lol. he is a 7 foot shotblocking center which is exactly what we need. Pair that with a rising star with blatche at pf and were set. Can you remember the last time we traded for a troubled PF from washington.......

Yes. He was a former #1 overall pick in the draft who won Rookie of the Year, had been an All-Star, and was averaging 20 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 blocks for his five-year career at that point. Can you see anybody of that description on the Washington roster?

If Blatch and McGee were as good as their stats say (amare esque) why were the Wiz still one of the worst teams in the league even with Arenas, Butler, and Jamison playing?

This is in no way intended to defend or promote either one of them, but in fairness to them, they really wern't getting the same kind of playing time until Wash made their trades. Or consistant time.

Blatche was fairly consistant the last thirty games averaging 21.8 points and 8 rebounds in 34.7 minutes a game. He isn't much of a shotblocker averaging 0.8 blocks in that same thirty games. McGee averaged 23 minutes a game for the last 30 games. And he did average 2.1 Blocks per game during that period. His rebounding was OK at 6.9 and he scored 9.2 points per game. McGee also fouled quite a bit, but thats to be expected when your trying to block shots.

I wouldn't mind trying to pick up McGee at a reasonable price. He's had a little reputation as a head case, so one has to take that into consideration. As for Blatche, I doubt the Wiz are going to let him go at this point.

That makes sense I guess. Blatche and McGee are good, but just weren't given the chance to show it. Its wierd for me to think of Blatche as a 21 ppg player because used to make fun of how terrible he was in NBA 2k9.
Thats pretty much the only reference to his game that I have.
