Should we TRADE our pick?

I was thinking, what if we got some good offers for young players that we could trade our pick for? Like lets say if Memphis gets Rose, and offers us Conley for the 12 so they can try to grab a big man, do you do it?

What are some other offers you guys can think of?

If Memphis gets Rose because of default I can totally see them trading Conley. I would take a chance on him because he impressed me at the end of the season. Trading our #1 for Conley would be a decent deal.

12 won't be enough. Indiana and Portland could offer better packages than we have.
Yeah we'd probably need to offer Cisco and Shelden or something like that too. Also to make salaries work. I don't think Indiana could offer anything close to what I just mentioned though, they suck.

I can't imagine Shelden having any value other than a throw-in in any trade. Garcia and 12 probably beats out an Indy deal because Williams or Diogu hasn't really proven as much as Garcia, but if no Garcia I don't really know why they'd do us a favor by taking 12 over 11. Portland has a lot of excess young talent to throw at them to go along with the 13th.

You are assuming Portland wants Conley, when jsut last offseason they seemed to have minimal interest and went out of their way to shoot down rumors they were going to pair he and Oden. His rookie year was some good some bad, but I am not sure enoguh to change opinions radically one way or the other.

In response to the OP -- sure, if its for a young guy with even more upside than anybody we'd draft at #12. Trading this year's #12 for last year's #4 is probably a solid deal. Trading the #12 for another vet would be pathetic.

You're right, I don't know if they do want him but last year's circumstances were different and I don't think you can assume they don't want him because of that. Personally I don't think he's a good fit for them and they have a surplus at PG too which they couldn't really push onto Memphis, but who knows.

Well yeah I'm saying trade it for a younger guy who might is more of a sure thing.

Petrie has no history of trading a first round selection prior to the draft whether at 30 or at 7. He did trade our 30th in effect when he drafted the PG out of Gonzaga who was shipped to Atlanta as part of an earlier trade. But in 14 years I'm not aware of GP ever trading up or down just prior to the draft.

So I think Kings keep it and go for the best "big" available.

I don't see how that is pertinent to this season. If a GOOD offer presents itself, I'm sure he'll act. If not, I'm sure he won't act on it.

Yea, I don't get all this stuff about how Petrie has never done ___ so he won't even consider it. Circumstances change.
