Seth Curry?

I believe Seth Curry should get some minutes especially for sg since belineli stinks and mclemore is inconsistent. Karl wouldn't have hard time pairing him up with our pg since he likes small ball anyways.....

Pick your poison:

We need to stop bringing up seth and stop trashing belinelli because it seems like the more the fans and press question Karl, the more the stubborn ol koot digs his heels in.

If Seth Curry were 6'5" he'd be the starting shooting guard.

But he isn't and Collison is already getting all the backup PG minutes and all the smallball SG minutes.

So it isn't McLemore/Belinelli/Anderson that he's fighting for minutes, it's DC.

Personally I think depending on matchups we should see Gay at the 2 (with Casspi at the 3) or DC/Curry at the 2 as much as possible. It's become difficult watching Ben struggle and painful to watch Marco whenever he's in the game.

Both Gay and DC would likely produce more on offense than Ben, but I doubt they would be better at defending typical SGs. In any case, we've seen the DC at SG experiment, and it's not very impressive. It would be interesting to see Gay.

As for Seth, in terms of effectiveness on both sides of the floor, he is probably similar to Ben, except for being shorter. Here too I wouldn't mind seeing him get more minutes, but from his performance so far there's not much to expect.

Seth is listed as 6'2. That's the same size as Avery Bradley, who is one of the best perimeter defenders today.
So his size shouldn't be the factor, that's holding Seth back, unless you ask him to cover Butler or Wes in the post.
But is he the better player and fit next to Rondo than DC?

A. Bradley is a phenomenal athlete while Seth is more middle of the road at best nba wise.

We don't want Seth to be Bradley. All we need is a guy able to stand his ground on D and hit shots coming off screens.
And in the few games Seth got playing time the thing that impressed me the most was his defense. It actually reminded me a lot of Bradley.
A smaller guy but always close to his man, applying pressure and waiting to capitalize on mistakes.
We saw the same kind of effort from Ben the last few games. Problem is, that Ben gets lost from time to time and will make a few dumb plays only to be yanked out of the game by Karl to give Marco extended minutes.
Maybe Seth, coming from a basketball family, won't make these mental mistakes. It's not, that we got much to lose at SG anyway.

Per 36 are useless. At least use per 100 poss.
Well, per36 aren't perfect when comparing guys on different teams, but they should be alright for comparing guys on the same team, unless for some reason somebody dramatically alters your pace (like a push push PG as opposed to his backup the walk it up guy).

Obviously neither are great for a player with as few minutes as Curry has gottne. Half his minutes have been garbagetime.

I know the Kings are still making the Playoff run and all but I think Seth should be given an opportunity at the starting SG job. If it turns out he is posted up repeatedly then you make an adjustment. But hey he might just be able to improve the team.

Didn't hurt giving Acy playing time don't think it would hurt to give Seth time either.

At this point, I'd be hard pressed to try and argue against at least giving him a try.

Seth is listed at 6'3" in shoes at the combine. However, he only has an average wingspan. Still, he's taller than either Rondo or Collison. I'd like to see Curry get minutes along side Collison when he's at the point instead of Belinelli. He couldn't be any worse offensively, and I can safely predict he'll be better defensively.

If Rondo is out for tonight then Seth should definitely get some minutes.

And if they go small ball I'd give him a shot against either Redick or Crawford at the 2. Neither guy is going to go to the blocks and post him up.

You are trying to interject logic. Shame on you. ;)

I mean why not? play the young one a bit more and see if you want to keep him on the roster moving forward.

Well, we're still not there however. Team still trying to make the playoffs, Karl still trying to save his job. No gift minutes for young'uns. If Curry gets time it will be because we need it from him.

Both historically love picking on us too, like pretty much every SG does. Wouldn't hurt to try someone different.
