As a replacement for Grant Napier... Probabbly
As a replacement for Jerry Renolds... Yes
For Jim Kozamer in a heartbeat.

Oh you meant as a PLAYER... lol those days are gone and Pollard's only future lays in broadcasting.

I am going to repost a thought I had a few weeks ago.

Two things:

1) We have a separate forum for this kind of discussion.
2) It's Scot Pollard, not Scott Pollard.

Both discrepancies have been corrected.

Good to see vast majority so far gives a resounding NO to bringing back this mediocre goof-ball scrub. Still, I don't get the loser mentality of many Kings fans who constantly hark for the good 'ol bad days of wanting beat up and washed up former players back. I hear them all the time saying, "if we can just get Bobby Jackson again", or "wouldn't it be great if C-Webb would sign with us for the veterans minimum." Kings fans with a nostalgia for nothing IMO:eek:

Yea, why not, we got a nobody Center, and were interested in a nobody PG. Why not another hasbeen. This is great! We can get the best record in the league, if they decided to put losses before wins that is.

I watch many games on NBALP and Jerry is probably one of the top 5-7 color guys in the league. 1) He knows the game, 2) He's funny, 3) He's not monotone. Some of the guys on LP are PATHETIC. Jerry is definitely one of the better ones in the league.

While I'm not as fond of Grant either, he's still one of the better call guys as well.

Some of these teams TV guys just SUCK.
While not a Pollard comment, I put Jerry in the top 2 color guys for your reasons above. If we take this further lets move it to a new post.

As for Pollard, he says he is a "running big" not suited for the eastern game. He is a better defender than Brad but not the high post presence of Brad. He is a great bench guy for both the 4 and 5. But if Kings are going youth...... well, too bad for Scot. He was definitely the fan favorite in his years here with his "do's" changing every week or sooner. And a very agressive rebounder. If Brad leaves without a 5 in return, then maybe for bench/locker room presence if he can get at least 20 min/game.

Personally w/ his years of rest I feel he has something left in his tank. I say we should sign the guy for a year w/ a team option on the 2nd, and 3rd, and see where it goes. He is a good locker room guy, and can perhaps help the young guys.

I think it's kind of a moot point since he'd be playing behind so many people that he'd never make it onto the court, all he'd do is take up a roster spot that might be better used. We're already 3 players deep at both PF and C with existing contracts, 3.5 deep if we signed Watkins for more than the summer, and we only have 12 slots aside from the inactive list. We're 2.5 deep at both SF and SG without signing anyone new, and we're 1 deep at PG (unless you consider Douby a PG) without signing anyone new.

Seems to me that we need a PG a lot more than another big.

But I valued what Pollard did for the locker room, the guy is a total clown and really helped people keep their sense of humor.

So how about we hire him as the Sense of Humor Coach?

I am have to admit, I am a Pollard fan, however, even I wouldn't want him back on the Kings team, unless he replaces Jerry Reynolds as the play-by-play analyst.

Grant is the play-by-play. Jerry is the color commentator.
Even better bring Scot to replace Grant on play by play

Jerry is cool eventhough he tries too hard with being funny and his Bibbalious...Arteast korny lines. :p

Grant is definately not cool and is downright annoying!!!!

Congrats to Scot, the "doo" guy, on landing a 1-year at least at Bean Town. If he gets chance to play and show his stuff, his value will climb like crazy. As much as I love him we're overloaded with 4's and 5's for the moment.
