They are on the same pedestal because they're in the same rookie class, play in the same geographical region, and play the same position, just like LeBron and Carmelo. They're in the same league. Neither of them have won a championship yet, so they're effectively in the same boat, regardless of what the statistics say. Sure you start a team with LeBron, but that's out of the question (and merely serves as barber-shop talk) now that both guys have a solid contending team built around them.

Pedestal was the wrong word to use. I think what i meant to say was that Im annoyed that people are grouping together Evans and Curry as being on the same talent/potential level. I dont like to group a high level player with a player that has noticeably less ability. For example, I would never make this type of statement: " Dwight Howard and Emeka Okafor are both excellent centers in the NBA.", atleast not without adding who the superior player is to the end of such a statement. There is clearly a barrier that seperates Howards class of player from Okafor's class of player. They are both excellent centers in the NBA. However, mentioning them together as if they're the same level of talent is a disservice to the better player and overcredits the lesser player. This principle also applys to Tyreke Evans and Stephen Curry.

Right, but as I said, only the scrubs and the second-tier guys' numbers get inflated... Never the top-tier guys on his teams. The CJ Watsons and Chris Hunters of the world benefit from Nellie because they're able to play more freely than they would anywhere else. A guy that can score in the NBA can score on any team. A guy that can pass the ball well can pass the ball well anywhere. Stephen Jackson was scoring 18PPG in Atlanta prior to his stints in Indiana and Oakland. He simply knew how to score, and still does.

We did. Mitch was about as off as you can get with an example. He was 1/3 of Run TMC and got traded to a team where he was the man. No way does this support your argument, in fact it proves we are right. Mitch averaged about 22-23 points per a game over 3 seasons with both Hardaway and Mullin on the team. He had seasons with the Warriors where Mullin was also scoring 25 ppg and Hardaway 22 ppg.

His first three seasons with the Kings he was about 21-23 as the focal point. See there is the important difference.

And another thing. The Clipper diss was pretty dismissive on your part. It shows the main point though. Davis put up great numbers under Nellie. Equal to his best as a Hornet. But then he went to LA chasing the contract. I feel for the Clippers because they thought they were getting the same Baron Davis that put up numbers for the Warriors. They got robbed.

This is how I see the Evans vs Curry debate:

Curry: extremely smooth jumpshot, along with passing skills that I did not think he had. He is already good at the pick and rolls and will continue to only get better. I cannot hate on the kid because he can just flat out play. However, he is playing for a team that only concentrates on offense, and you have the green light to shoot whenever. When you know that you won't be taken out of a game for a bad shot/possession, it becomes that much easier on you. He plays in an easier system, and one that maximizes his talents (shooting, passing, transition buckets). This is not a system for playoff basketball, and I am not sure if Curry could be the center piece for a team, especially considering his skillset. He is a second option in my opinion, no more. He would be an outstanding piece for any team, but as someone's Robin, not Batman.

Evans: This kid is huge for a PG, he literally has the advantage every single night. What does it say when teams have to stick their small forward on you to try and slow you down? He is built for playoff basketball, designed in every way for those tough matchups and harder fouls. He loves it (is even taking boxing lessons this summer to get tougher). Teams are aware of him, they recognize they need to stop him, and they still can't. He is a star already. When he develops a jumpshot the Curry vs Evans argument will stop mark my words. Evans can develop a jumpshot, Curry can't play and will never play the way Evans plays (which is producing excellent results). Someone said that Curry is close to averagine 20-5-5. He is not even close, almost 4ppg away and his rebounding is not up there either. I know I am biased and I admit it happily, but I have watched Curry play a lot in the NBA and he's good, really good, but Tyreke is great. Tyreke has the killer instinct, and Curry doesn't. That makes all the difference between a star (curry) and a superstar (evans).

I just think that the kings are actually trying to assemble a winning style of basketball. They try to post up. They get Evans to dribble drive and kick. The warriors are just out there running around like chickens with their heads cut off looking for any shot they can get their hands on

If you had an ounce of intelligence about advances statistics, you'd understand that pace adjusted stats levels the playing field if you want to use stats in an apple-to-apple comparison, in which case, Evans blows Curry out of the water in every category inside the 3 point line...

No kidding. What an idiot. Evans is a much better defender than Curry. Curry's not bad on the defensive end, but Evans blows him out of the water on that side of the court.
