Ok, I'm ignorant of what goes on in the Ham'iverse, I simply don't have much to say about that.
Fan driven media isn't held to any kind of professional standard and seems to treat opinion the same as fact. And Ham does have a big enough voice that when he says something a good chunk of the fanbase believes it. So when he says Vivek is cheap, he's cheap. Case closed for a nice chunk of fans.
A recent example is this tweet:
He tweets this out in the middle of the Lakers game after Doug's promotion. Ostensibly to make Monte and the rest of the FO look bad for promoting the guy in charge of rotations to replace Mike Brown who was fired for his bad rotations. Also works Jordi in there because why not?
11 minutes later he tweets this
minor clarification, but all around social media now you see folks referencing the original tweet and saying Doug was the moron in charge of not playing Keon.
Note the original tweet has nearly 4x the likes, it also has over 41k views while the follow up had 16k.
He's constantly engagement farming with half truths to get people riled up with pitchforks. He was the guy always trying to bait Keegan into trash talking Mike Brown with leading questions about being frustrated with his role at post game pressers. And he's #1 at repeating the Vivek is cheap and incompetent gospel. I think he had a very terrible first 5 years as owner. But since then he has actually learned, but he's still a people pleaser at heart himself and I think he takes the personal criticisms to heart and he did not want to be caught with his pants down and lose Brown, so he re-upped him even though the signs were maybe there that he shouldn't have.
