Kind of hate to see that trade go down, but Giddey aint chopped liver and still cheap.
As far as any LaVine to Sac rumour, it certainly has lost attraction but I wouldn’t mind the 11th pick, recon that’s about where Carter is going to go.

The most sensible trade was always Barnes/Huerter for LaVine. If the Bulls wanted picks, it's dicey.

I like the idea of Giddey getting to control the ball again. Him just getting shoved aside is fully wasting what he does well

Pretty fair trade imo. Giddy a good upside piece, Caruso elite role player. Also **** OKC
I guess I can squint and see him doing Lonzo’s role from the half season he was healthy for the Bulls but the missing piece is that Lonzo turned into a really good floor spacer whereas teams were just leaving Giddey wideass open during the postseason.

That Caruso trade might have been one of those warning shots from Chicago to up the value or they'll start shedding more value pieces it would take to move these two haha.
But Caruso was that value piece. Lavine and Vuc are both still useful players but on awful contracts and Pat Williams, Demar, and Drummond are all free agents which leaves Coby White (who they rightfully shouldn’t be trading at this point in time) and Ayo as their only other two pieces that people would probably be interested in.

How on earth does Chicago get better in that deal, let alone they lost one of the few attractive pieces they had to get off LaVine. Does that mean they have decided to keep him? And if so how does Giddy fit into that roster?

That's what I'm saying. One add on down.

If we take on LaVine can we get the pick if it's top 10? Or two future picks?

I remember that whole NOP/Blazers tank fiasco where Blazers wound up not getting the FRP because of weird protections and NOP making their insane playoff run.

I highly doubt the Bulls will be including valuable picks with LaVine. Maybe 2nds. It's not like LaVine is dealing with some kind of career ending injury at this point. He's just not reliable physically. Maybe those knees start turning on him who knows. Either the Bulls want to break that salary up, or will hold onto him and maybe wait for a Western conference team to get desperate after a slow start next season then actually get some kind of value. If I were them and the Kings offered Barnes and Huerter I'd do it. If not, the smart move is for them to probably wait. Especially if they are going to rebuild anyway. Give the ball to LaVine like they did last season when trying to up his value and see what round two looks like.

I like LaVine but he was hobbled last year and didn’t have the usual pop in his play. Taking on that huge contract with his injury history and downward trending play is a big risk. Monte likes to hedge his bets and if the Kings take that risk, he will ask for more compensation from the Bulls.

If we lose Monk, you definitely need to get a Replacement who can create and score.
Other than that, why not just add some wings like Dallas added Derrick Jones. Guys who won’t break the bank but address a deficiency. Would go a long ways to solving the issues we had with a few teams.

I think the best we can do with our assets right now and the other teams possible trade candidates (except Isaac) is to be patient and wait a year. Draft the player who we think has the highest upside while being able to play 20+ minutes in his rookie season and then make the big trade the next off-season when Huerter and Barnes will become in a near 40M of expiring contracts. And even maybe we can allow ourselves to include this young guy after his rookie season and make of him an appealing asset beside the 40M.

A player like Jaquez or Podziemski and 40M of expiring deals + 2 1st picks can give us a 3rd star with real positive value and not the players that are being discussed right now. Or at least a real good complement without the picks.

Trade our expiring deals, Duarte, Vezenkov and Lyles/Mitchell (depend if Monk is gone or he stays) for a starter caliber PF (DFS? Portis? Stewart?). And try to get 2 of Jalen Smith, Naji Marshall, Lonnie Walker, Goga Bitadze or FA like those to complete the rotation and still being competitive.
