This is not a punisment -- its a reward.
For sucking
Whatever pick we get, I hope we just take the most talented player available.
Drafting for specific needs instead of drafting for top talent is always a sure way to fail.
Just look at the #2 picks of the 1984 and 2003 drafts.

http://www.nba.com/kings/news/Kings_Choose_Spencer_Hawes.htmlIn early May, Kings.com conducted a poll where 88 percent of respondents thought the Kings should select either a power forward or a center in the draft. Looks like Kings fans just got their wish.
Thornton is completely different than Hawes. He may have been the BPA at the time but there is no question that Hawes had and has a much higher ceiling.
So, you're telling me there's a chance.![]()
I got 3rd with Jerryd Bayless selected!
Which begs the interesting question. If by some silly chance we end up with the 1st pick who would Petrie select?!
Personally, I would go with Rose but I have a funny feeling that Petrie might go with Beasley!
Hi everybody long time no see.
After 15 tries I got this:
Congrats. Maloofs, here's our "SuperFAN".
Beasley. His resemblance to Duncan is uncanny.
Interesting that Chad Ford thinks we'd take Bayless over Lopez. I'm not so sure who I'd go with at #3.
Anyone else curious what he thinks our big board looks like? From what I've seen posted here, he figures it's something along the lines of:
1. Beasley
2. Rose
3. Bayless
....
Augustin
Westbrook
Jordan
Speights
Arthur
Gallinari
I guess this based on who he has us picking when certain players are available. Anyone played enough to fill in the gaps from other scenarios?
Actually I think I take Mayo at 3, I think he's got the best passing/court vision of anyone in the draft after Rose. He still has potential to be a pretty good PG, which he was projected to be out of HS.
I was thinking the same thing. Don't know why Mayo is listed so low on some draft sites. Also, I'm not entirely sold on Lopez yet.
I would take Mayo with the 3rd if given the chance. I think he has the potential to be an outstanding player.
Now the player that Beasley is the most similar to is Carmelo Anthony IMO. I saw quite a few K-State games and they are very similar.
