Bonzi for Artest
Peja/KT for Deng and Nocioni
YES, YES, YES!!! I would do that in a minute.

PF - Shareef
SF - Deng
C - Miller
PG - Bibby
SG - Artest

Bench - Nocioni, ..... well the bench would still really need some work.

Insanity. No thanks. Not for Bonzi, not for Peja, not for anyone.

Maybe Artest and T.O. can hook up and become talk show hosts.
More likely a rap group - Insane and Self-Absorbed.

Getting rid of Peja will get rid of your outside threat and close the gap for Bonzi to do his tricks. I would suggest keeping both and Brad. Everyone else can be trade bait. Im more for a Bibby/Thomas trade than anything else.

Bonzi Wells is on a hot streak and is currently playing out of his mind. He career numbers don't even begin to hint that he's capable of maintaining.

He's done some nice things, but if you can get Artest for Bonzi Wells - you do that three times ... four times on Sunday.

Bonzi is in his contract year. He's going to demand a hefty fee. Artest is locked up and if worse comes to worse - you can still move him.

Bonzi is a decent enough player - but Artest is top 20 in the league.

Don't let fan-homerism cloud your vision. Artest is 10 times the player Bonzi is. He's a better scorer both inside and out. He's a FAR better defender. He's also a better rebounder for his career.

Anyone on this team is expendable. Period.
word.

Oh good lord.

Bonzi Wells has, just about single-handedly, brought this fanbase back from the edge of the cliff. He has brought pride and excitement and heart and desire back to the Kings and to us - the fans.

If you think the Maloofs and Petrie are dumb enough to destroy all of that by trading Bonzi for Artest, it's you whose sanity should probably be questioned.

A little over a year ago, if you could have told me the Kings could have a lineup of:

Bibby
Artest
Peja
SAR
Miller

I'd be all over it. Now, I have to think about it.

Man has a point. Artest > Bonzi any day. Then trade Peja for someone else. However I do not think Pacers are dumb enough to do that

Don't think we gain much if we traded Bonzi for Artest. Still stuck wiht only one tough guy. If we're going to gain some backbone we need to end up with Bonzi AND Artest. Not just swap our tough guy for theirs.

Also of course would be scrapping the only leadership we've had (which is probably good enough reason for Geoff to do it anymore) just when we add an immensely volatile player. Not good.

As an aside, Bonzi's rebounding has been a revealtion. His scoring? If you don't think Bonzi can score, and prolifically, you just haven't watched him over his career. He is still several points below what he has shown he can get.

I don't think it would destroy anything. I think the average fan would regard Artest for Bonzi as a Geoff Petrie coup. And either of those guys is equally likely to throw a ball the length of the court and nail Ronnie Price in the back of the head... so the sanity issue is factored out as a wash.

good point.

But I think its unfair that we are taking into consideration Artest's unstability(is that a word?), but not Bonzi's... Wells is more than capable of pulling an Artest at anytime, but since his tenure in Sacramento has panned out extremely well so far, we don't seem to take that into consideration.

Remember how the T.O-Eagles mariage was working perfectly fine before the Super Bowl and before he called McNabb "tired" at the end of the game? I'm not saying the Bonzi-Kings mariage is heading into the same direction, nor do I want it to happen, but it very well could. Which is why I think its unfair to say that Artest VS Bonzi wouldn't be a good trade because Bonzi has adapted well so far to the Kings.

Ok if we get Deng and Artest, why do we want two SFs? Can one play PF? What about SAR in a deal? Perhaps SAR/Peja for a stud? We can offer KT the PF spot and get Perhaps 1 stud SF.

What about Artest for Bonzi
Then Peja/KT for Gordon/Nocioni
Corliss/Hart - 1 good PG

We would have:
Miller
Bibby
Gordon
Artest
SAR

Bench:
Nocioni
PG
Skinner
Martin

If JO wants bonzi then let him give himself up....

You gotta obviously agree with playmaker in that artest is far better than bonzi... Would I do the trade though? Hell no... It doesn't make any sense for us right now... We lose our leader and we gain minimal toughness.... I would take artest in a hertbeat but its gotta involve peja, not bonzi... Having bonzi AND artest in the game at the SAME time would sure be fun to watch... We would pretty much manhandle any 2-3 combo that other teams throw at us... I would just love to see ginobli and bowen crying their a**es off cause were too tough for them.

Are you talking about the same Maloofs and Petrie who traded fan favorite Christie for Mobley, and Webber for three overpaid bench warmers?

ok...i gotta tell you all that as a pacers fan that keeps pretty up to date on this board, that i find this subject pretty entertaining....

i cant believe that some of the same people that are violently opposing any trade for artest coming to the kings are trumpeting bonzi and refusing to even consider his departure....

u do realize that on message boards all over the country, including this very one, that conversations and debates like the artest one on here right now were going on about bonzi????

and they were just as heated....checkered past, great talent, but reputation would seem to nix the deal....

and yet the love for bonzi is overwhelming, while only playing 20 games....i dont wanna say some of us might be a bit fickle, but still....

u dont think that if ron were to come to sac, that after his first 20 games the fan base wouldnt be in love with him??? even those that currently oppose the idea??? oh i would beg to differ with u if u disagreed....u think u guys love bonzi, well ron is bonzi to the 4th power...

and please, the intent of this post wasnt to start a who is worse argument-bonzi or ron...cause trust me, being from indiana, and bonzi being available last summer, we had numerous conversations regarding exactly that....and far more is known about bonzi in indiana thanmost kings fans know...and thats a good thing and should stay that way...just thought i would point out the irony of the situation....

and btw...obviously JO is buds with bonzi from their portland days...JO has also said he wants al as well....

and i agree with whoever said JO should basically stay quiet and not be putting these type of comments out there...but oh well....he has been playing absolutely great lately , so i wont dog him too much...

and again...i dont think ron is going to end up in sac...

denver, yes...lakers, yes...ny, outside chance..but not sac...

and btw...im watching the kings play the pistons...

GO KINGS !!!!!!!!!!

Except their's can play a modicrum of defense.

He PRIDES himself on defense.

He's a decent enough scorer. But not one you can rely on night in and night out. He's also not one you can run the offense through - like we currently seem to think we can.

Once he has a decent defender on him, he's stymied.

Everyone keeps talking about how Bonzi has been consistant and "great" all year ...

That's not the case. He was very sporatic and didn't really turn it on until the past 10 games ... even more so the past 5.

That's like not trading Reef for Garnett if Reef went on a micro-run or was averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds. You MAKE that trade if it's available (and the salaries match).

Artest is a top 20 player in this league. So is Garnett. EVERY player on the roster should be up for grabs when you mention either player.

Bonzi doesn't know thing one about defense. His man is constantly getting good penetration and hurting us. We are constantly out of position to make up for his desire to be near the ball at all times.

His "rebounding" is up partially because of this. He is constantly fighting for boards rather than playing basketball.

every after u read this, plz go and send bonzi to the all star game. They can't have him, hes are's. If geoff does this, he would be the dumbest gm ever! Bonzi carried us through the slump on his back, and is slowly bringing them back.

JO/Carlisle for Peja/SAR/Adelman
Best idea in the thread, although at that point you might as well call the Kings the West Coast Pacers.

Sorry despite the respectable opinions that Artest is a better or more valuable player than Bonzi the bottom line is that he is NOT more valuable to THIS TEAM at THIS time. Last season (pre-brawl) I was behind a Pedja for Artest trade, today I'd be hard pressed to make ANY trade that brougt Artest to Sacramento, and am totaly opposed to any trade that gives up a starter. If GP can get Indy to take some combination of bench material for the nut job he MIGHT be worth the risk.
