I had a great time. They had games (dance, FT shooting, 3 pt shooting, half-court shooting) where people won money and pairs of tickets to a Kings game of their choice.
It was very family oriented, which I thought was great. Parents (who cannot usually afford) got to take their kids and have a good time and feel a game atmosphere (somewhat).
Big Mike was on top of his game. The crowd loved it.
They interviewed players before the practice (Ron and Bibby) and during very short rest breaks (Moore once and Hawes once).
Yes, the concessions were open, not only food but Team store and concourse shopping. Kids were having a ball getting food and souvenirs. It was great for them if parents can't afford those things after paying for tickets and parking.
Reggie was outstanding. He is so personable and the crowd loved his interaction with the fans. He made a point of making the guys have a real practice, so we could all see the stretch drills, running drills, defensive drills, and offensive drills. He called out players by name just like he would in a real practice. He stopped play to point things out and correct things.
We also got to "enter" the locker room (via jumbo tron) before they ever came out onto the floor. Coaches were showing clips of last nights game, stopping, and backing up action to talk to players (collectively and individually) and point out errors; when players were not where they were supposed to be, etc. They pointed out the bad, but also the good to reinforce things.
I loved it. I had a great time with people who do not get the opportunity to go and see their Kings. I viewed it as an extremely successful event.
