Old Trade Thread (no longer need to post all trades here)

Petrie needs to be shrewd right now and pull off one of his 'where the hell did this come from' trades. New blood is a good thing right now, otherwise mediocrity will reign. I would rather lose bad than be mediocre.

I wounder if there is any way we could get Chris Paul? Maybe Bibby plus a first round pick for Paul and P.J. Brown.
Paul has got to be one of those young nearly untouchable players unless yoiu have a superstar to offer them.

there seems to be lots of talk about artest going to denver...since i have my doubts of them having anything the pacers really want, how would u guys feel about..

peja and garcia

for

nene, lenard and anthony johnson..

its not something im personally fond of...just going on the assumption bird still might have some interest in peja...

thoughts?

I dunno, I think we could get more for peja, but it WOULD be addition by subtraction anyways.

fred jones would be interchangeable with anthony johnson if it makes any difference...freds a free agent at the end of the year anthony is not....and lenard is expiring also...and i assume he would be let go...

Successful Scenario

I dig that. Would dig it even more if Harrington went to Pacers, then Artest to Sac, and Peja to Atlanta. But I like it.

Tyronn Lue is underrated, IMO.

Here comes a rumor via http://rockymountainnews.com/drmn/nba/article/0,2777,DRMN_23922_4326071,00.html

The Nuggets also are in the mix for Artest, the troubled Indiana Pacers forward who has asked to be traded. And there have been indications they are exploring the availability of Sacramento forward Peja Stojakovic, a free agent after the season.

NBA insiders indicated Saturday a possible three-way trade could have Artest going to Denver, Harrington returning to Indiana, where he played from 1998-99 to 2003-04 and the Nuggets sending forward Nene and guard Earl Watson to Atlanta.

There also have been indications of a possible deal in which Harrington would go to Denver for Nene and Watson.
I can't imagine what the possible scenario will be, and what we will get. And I think THAT's just a RUMOR. But I love Earl Watson. He could be perfect for the backup PG.

Mr. Petrie. Please do SOMETHING rather than nothing. :(

My patience is wearing down. :(

Look at what it got him last season with Chris. I rather Petrie wait for the right trade then hurry and get less in return. We need to trade our core but I want equal value no more crappy 3 for 1 deals. I also do not think last years trade was done without a lot of Maloofs influence. Hopefully they wuill let Petrie do his job.

Right trade? How about some warm bodies? Good enough for me.

This entire article is already being discussed at length in the NBA forum. You might want to check it out.

I'm not even sure "warm" is a deal breaker any longer.

I have faith that Petrie will sooner or later pull the trigger on something that gets a different group of faces into the mix. I just wish it would be sooner rather than later because patience is not one of my endearing virtues.

Well, that and the longer he waits it makes it that much harder to come back from a terrible record.

Plus I mean, everything is sooo obvious. #1 Adelmans gone. I don't even know why they are dragging this out any longer. After this summer its pretty clear whats up in regards to that whole situation.

Here'e the score on the season:

today we are 10-15 .400
to reach 50 wins we would have to go 40-17 .702 over the remaining 57 games.

That seems...unlikely.

We are just about out of time now. We are now hitting the last good home stretch we have this season really -- 6 of 7 at home AGAIN. (by whihc point we will be horribly overbalanced with home games over road games). If we do anything but clean up now -- and the games aren't all easy -- we could find ourselves 13-19, 12-20, or something godawful like that, and playing the large majority of our games on the road for the rest of the year. And then recover for the playoffs becomes next to impossible without some sort of MAJOR move, coaching or players.

I too do not know what Petrie is waiting for. One of the reasons I have grown increasingly restless with him. The deadly patience he had while we were at the top begins to look like something much closer to stubborn inaction in the face of our whole season going down the drain. If it does, the next thread question we should have is: is Petrie the man for the job of rebuilding the Kings? Or was Portland right?

^He rebuilt the Kings once already, I'd say he's the man to do it again.

I think the league is waiting for Earl Boykins' hamstring to heal -- it seems like the inevitable Earl Watson deal is going to kick off the trades this season.

okay i got it.....

trade skinner and hart to jersey for mcinnis, padgett and wright.... that would fix our bench problems without a doubt....

It appears to me that the logjam on trades begins and ends with Indianappolis and Ron Artest...he's the big brass ring most GM's in the league are eyeing right now. And if we do trade Peja it has to be successful for the good of the franchise. And by success it can't be for an Artest who will cause problems but for an Artest that will be motivated, and that means a re-nogotiation of his contract (as of today's news from his camp) so I really don't think we'll go that route. I think we'll see a rush of trades just beating the deadline and, as Brick alluded to, it's about too late for us this year anyway so you may as well plan for next year and set yourself up for then.

I still say we need a big body at center. A guy who doesn't want or need to score to be effective.

Brad Miller is best when he's touching the ball and getting some open looks. But it atrocious on all aspects of defense.

I think a guy like Joel Przybilla could be had for the right offer. He isn't a "sexy" pick, but he gets the job done. He doesn't require the ball and he's imposing at 7'1" and strong. He'll also get us some respectability in the paint.

He is a foul magnet and needs discipline, but I think he'd be a spectacular pick up for the style of basketball this team is geared towards.

While Reef is servicable on defense ... we need someone to back him up and be imposing. Any other suggestions other than Przy?

Kirilenko and Odom seem to be on the verge of changing teams.

Yes, please may we have one. Our team relies on a 6' point guard to drain guarded 25 footers. He is the "go to guy". Problem. I don't believe his style can change at this point, and I've seen enough of the pick and roll with 3 guys standing. Bibby or Miller launching has become dreary.

Bibby helped the Kings a great deal at one time. I think he is hampering them now purely because he is over-featured. He could help someone else more, so let's trade him. IMO he is our only attractive trade bait, still.

Please.

P.S. Milwaukee and Memphis have become very fun teams to watch. i suppose this is how I discovered the Kings in the first place. I can only hope they become as entertaining as those two squads.

Etan Thomas, Chris Wilcox, Steven Hunter and Theo Ratliff all come to mind. And really, a shot blocking big for Peja + makes more sense than Peja for Artest unless you plan on doing both? I can dream can't I?

AK47 needs to prove he can stay healthy, the guy hurt his back and is out again, after returning from his ankle/leg injury. He's awesome when healthy though, he had that monster of a game vs. Detroit the other day.
