Official 2013-14 Free Agent Tracking Thread

One player I'd give a try at minimum salary is Pelicans SF Darius Miller.
Barely used in New Orleans, he had some good games at the end of the season when he got some minutes.
He's unrestricted free agent.
I think he has a good potential as a 3&D bench player. I noticed that he played very good defense agains our own Rudy Gay this past season.
He's got good size for the SF position and seems to be an intelligent player who plays within himself.
The only concern is his rebounding which was very bad this season but he did better during his rookie season so there's hope.
Actually, I think he would be a better SF sub than Outlaw.

Not a game changing transaction but a non-risky one as he could be signed for the minimum.

Hmm. Feels like we're out on Rondo at this point.

The way I look at it, our best offer is IT / McLemore. With Smart, Young, and now Bradley back in the mix, that would give them far to many guards (young guards at that!) that would need playing time. It just doesn't seem like that will be their most productive offer anymore.

In my opinion, Boston's out. Detroit still feels out to me despite them still having available capspace. The IT suitors are dwindling.

With the Pacers as active as they are, I wonder if Hill could be had in trade. I would prefer him over Chalmers every day of the week.

It has occurred to me precisely that if the Pacers wanted more offensive juice they could consider signing IT, and trading us George Hill the other way in exchange.

But given Hill's contract, I think you would have to really give thought if you wanted him at $8mil over IT at $8mil.

Did you watch Hill during the 2nd half of the season and the playoffs?

Lowry re-signs with Toronto. Good for him and the Raptors, they have something nice brewing up there. IT did mention he will make his decision after Kyle, no?

Given our PG options are getting more limited by the day, I'm starting to turn my attention to Lin. Hou will move him. I'd love to get in on that. I'd go after him before I'd go after a Collison, without a doubt.

They don't want salary back though and we can't absorb Lin's contract, although only half is against the cap at about 7.5M. Only option I can really think of is Terry for Lin if Hou is willing to then immediately buy Terry out.

Can't believe how F'd up our salary situation is. On the books for 66.5M, not counting Stauskas or whoever is going to be our starting PG. 21M tied up in PF's. Unbelievable. Signing Landry and trading for DWill were not good decisions. Not at all.

No thanks. Give me IT over Lin any day

12 mil is too much for a Sefolosha but then again Ben Gordon of all people received 9 mil from Orlando and he hasn't been relevant since his Chicago departure.

unnecessarily took on moute and signed landry thats a good 11+m. gerbil got happy with his first gig and splurged.

11+m? that # rings a bell.

Hawes 4 years 23 mil with the Clippers. Will be very interesting to see how he performs and is utilized on a well-coached contending team. I've always thought he has a high bball IQ.

The deal is the best FA signing so far, the guy unless he get badly injuryed is going to be a asset on the court or in trade talks, that contract is a steal I wonder what this does with ED Davis he is a guy we could go after if we move Landry.

Having Cuz/Ed/JT/Reggie imo is avery solid fornt court we finally get a tall shot blocking athletic sort of guy. JT/Ed can play together as well when Cousins is resting which gives us great mobility/length. No matter what in that case we will have size (which can actually play) on the floor at all times at the 4/5 spots.

Also question if we re-sign IT can we trade him in a package with say Landry? I was wonder if we did sign IT to like 6 mil per season could we maybe send him and Landry/Williams in exchange for Larry Sanders? Would we be over the cap if we did since we just signed DC lite.

If it means getting rid of Landry and IT to take a risk on Sanders i'm all for it.
