Now, Let's go get Mo Evans

He is hot, agressive, decent defender, a 40"+ vertical, and absorbed some of that Detroit karma for a year. Let's bring him back to sacto.

Er...exactly what would a team with Ron, Kevin, Cisco and hopefully Bonzi do with Mo? Those 2/3 positions for us have come a long way in the short time since he was here.

If Bonzi goes I wouldn't mind it, but as Brick states our 2/3 spots are pretty dang solid at the moment.

And you are right, wow, those positions have come A LONG way since then.

We dont need another guard unless we trade away one of 2/3 positions or Bonzi walks. We should inquire about Ben Wallace (let him and Artest settle their differences like grown men). B-Wallace didn't look all too happy losing to the heat. We can't offer him very much though. The chances of getting him are close to none.

Somehow I see Ron at the 4 on offense. Then Bonzi at 3 and Kevin at 2. Cisco is better defender than scorer. Who are our shooter-scorers off the bench? I see Ronnie Price behind Bibby if not Jason and I see Kevin filling in at the 1 when needed too. What jump shooters and perimeter scorers do we have? Evans is good in that role but brings more to the table.

There are a bunch of 2-3-4 bench/role players out there as opposed to Corliss, Kenny and.... and, oh yeah SAR. Then there is Brad, he of the Toredor style of defense, but he can shoot the perimeter and fill in the middle.... IF there are 2 other defenders behind him.

But getting back to perimeter scorers. I just don' t see Kenny Thomas starting and his perimter jumper is very suspect. SAR takes his spot. Then we are full circle. who off the bench to score and stimulate? Remember The Bench Mob? and how often thew would come in and outscore the starters in a quarter? They took us to conf finals. Then Poof!!

there is no need for evans.... martin has already proven to be better than he is... we might as well get matt barnes too then.... if we could only trade hart for house....

do you think detroit would take brad miller for wallace?

iknow i was only kidding but he played so horribly against shaq....

I'd def. take him to replace Bonzi's spot in the rotation if he goes, while Martin starts. Like I think it'd be with any other swingman coming into replace Bonzi, as I don't see us having a swingman crop of Artest and 3 youngsters in Martin/Garcia/Monia.

I ought to wash your mouth out with soap. For one thing, playing Artest at the 4 would completely negate his advantage in the post. And, for another, that's just utterly ludicrous.

Artest at the 4? Nah. Only when we'd go small.

Cruz, I'm sure we'll improve depth at PF/C and small guard. Currently? Just SAR.

i cannot see ben wallace leaving detroit, and certainly not for miller. I just can't see how miller would fit in there. Sure, the pistons would theoretically be picking up a lot of offense at the center spot, but as they've shown this year, they don't really need it. They're supposed to be a tight defensive team, and the rebounds/blocks they would lose by swapping wallace for miller would overshadow any offense they got.

However if you are talking about the other wallace, he might very well be available. Haha...a bonzi/sheed reunion would be fun to watch but I just dunno about the guy. IMO sheed showed his true colors in the playoffs this year- a big mouth that can't always back up his talk. Plus, he is going to be 32 at the start of next season and he will have 3 more years at $11+ million per.

I guess any upper echelon PF is going to have a high salary and come with risk- otherwise why would their current team part with them? Honestly, I wouldn’t mind going into next season with Reef starting at the 4 and finding a way to dump Thomas, preferably for a defensive-minded center. Maybe Thomas + Williamson’s expiring contract for Theo Ratliff? I hear Portland wants to get rid of Zach Randolf, so they may need a PF. Plus, if they resign Pryzbilla they wouldn’t really need Ratliff’s services at $11.7 million per for the next 2 years. I know Ratliff is a year older than sheed and so that kinda contradicts what I was saying before, but at least Ratliff doesn’t seem to cause the ruckus that sheed does. Also, if we kept Miller on board, Ratliff would only have to play back up minutes, maybe 20+ per game like he did in Portland. But that might be enough to tighten things up down low, especially in close game.

Offense is what Detroit seemed to be lacking in the playoffs. They might want Miller and change for Wallace but they wouldn't be a defensive team anymore.

I think the bench is Detroit's main concern.

Would/should have been for years. But not so sure anymore. Chemistry, identity, an aging frontcourt, they've got some tough decisions to make now.

I don't see Sheed or Ben going anywhere. At least not Sheed for next season.

Bench is still a primary concern, obviously a reason why they struggled in the POs and sometimes during the season.

The reason they struggled during the playoffs was the collapse of their starting 5, and the sniping hemorrage. In the Conference Finals Rip shot .378, Chauncey .391, Sheed .362, Prince .439. They just fell apart. With Sheed and Ben 32, one a free agent, and the other a non-productive headache during the playoffs...interesting times for the Pistons.

Indeed. I thought this club was a lock for the finals.
