Nets Sean Williams Available

Spencer has been blocking shots just fine at 2+ a game. From what I have seen of Sean Williams game, he is pretty agile but nothing more than a polished Justin Williams (or Steven Hunter) relying on put backs and crude quick steps past slower players.

I guess it wouldn't hurt to have another shot blocker but probably not at the cost of Jason's or Hawes minutes.

There's a reason he's available. The Nets apparently decided character didn't matter when they drafted Sean Williams and Marcus Williams. They forgot the Eddie Griffin rule.

He did great work in my fantasy team for stretches last year with his shotblocking. Elite level athleticism/shotblocking combination, and that type of intriguing play few bigs possess normally catapults even troubled characters into the lottery. That's what happened for Williams, Griffin etc. It's tough, because I really see 3+ bpg potential for him, but if he keeps pissing everyone off around him, he'll never see the light of day, and may eventually be kicked off in the league. Like Williams, Griffin, Eddie Robinson, Darius Miles--it always seems to happen to the big guys with trouble characters.

I would for sure go after williams. a frontcourt of he, thompson and hawes would be savvv. He's an athletic freak who can rebound, block shots and play good post d. I bet we could trade williams and a 2nd or something to get him too. or maybe Moore returns home? can someone say expiring? I sure as hell can.

Would love to have him. He has serious potential as a defender, and I don't mean that in an exagerrated way. He is beastly in the minutes he gets.

On the other side, there is obviously a character issue somewhere. He had some red flags coming out of college and it's unusual that the Nets would be willing to trade him unless he was causing some problems (unless they want to get some talent while his value is high).

Still, partnering him with Hawes and Thompson is very intriguing. I've always liked Williams game. I'd love to have him, but it's a pipe dream.
