On second thought, the local channel is having technical difficulties. I guess it's ESPN or bust, after all. Sounds like they had Vince Carter sitting in, too.
You're not wrong. But at the same time... this team has been rebuilding through the draft for 15 years. Half of the current active roster is made up of players drafted with top 10 picks. A lot of the fans immediately want every player gone by the time they sign their first post-rookie contract and there's no end to the rebuild in sight. We traded a 3x All Star to get Buddy Hield in the first place and we currently have no All Stars to trade. Selling everything might net us a mediocre (non lottery) pick or two but it could easily take us a decade to draft another All Star even with multiple picks a year.
I think the element people are really failing to appreciate here is that the last time this team was good the roster came together almost overnight and they had a very good coach to lead them. Small market teams have more challenges luring top free agents but the challenge for any NBA team is basically the same. A game of basketball only requires 8 or 9 players but those players all need to play well together. We've had a lot of talented players come through here in those 15 years but the team hasn't managed to get all of them pulling in the same direction for even one complete season. Maybe if you draft a Lebron James your head coach doesn't matter but for mere mortals, someone needs to be able to truly lead them.
Kings point guard that was really good and then started playing out of position and lost his luster. Where have I seen that before?
Well playing okc 2x and Orlando does help (except if you’re the kingsThe NBA's third hottest team? The Houston Rockets of course! 5 wins in a row after losing 15 straight. And they are doing it running 3 guards, a 6'4 small forward and a big.
Fans do love a redemption story. And Evans was my third-favorite King, after Wallace and Funderburke.#bringRekehome
did we burn down all the bridges with him tho? It's always bothered me that Tyreke wasn't re-signed when his rookie contract was up. He's not a great fit on paper since we need rebounding and defense way more than we need a slashing guard with a questionable jumper, but I'd like to see him come home and play for the Kings again at some point and we may be 2 weeks away from trading half the roster anyway, so sure. Why not. Omri was a real bright spot in his second go round so maybe history will repeat itself?
Gordon & Wood are ruining their tank
He unfortunately also plays the same position as their best player. He should get more minutes but those would have to come at the expense of Wood minutes.I admittedly haven't watched many Rockets games, but I just can't understand why they aren't giving more minutes to Sengun considering he has the highest PER on the team. Obviously that doesn't mean everything, but it's odd that we can find 25 minutes a game for our rookie (while trying to make the playoffs) and the Rockets can't find more than 18 minutes for their rook in a rebuilding year.
I also am mystified how announcers can totally blow pronunciations of player's names. The last highlight of him I saw the announcer said SHANE GUN. I mean I get struggling with certain names but that is not a particularly hard one.

Them also ripping off a huge winning streak immediately after their prized second overall pick starts missing time with an injury isn't exactly a great look either.Because the Rockets realized that Wood at C=all-star caliber player and he's fueled their 6-game winning streak. They'll have to figure that out eventually, but could be a Vuc-Bamba situation all over again, where he just stuck behind an all-star caliber player.

The Houston rebuild is kind of confusing.
