Monday morning 2-16-09 trade talks

It's like Petrie pulling a robbery in daylight on all 3 GMs with that.

Anyway, as the deadline draws closer, IMO only Salmons and a filler will be traded. And that's cool with me as long as the filler is non of our draft picks and youngins.

Brad, Kenny, and Moore will all be expiring next year, which I think more or less secures their trade values. These 3 guys along with Bobby Jackson can just sit on those benches and watch the kids play.

Natt has been giving good minutes to Hawes and Thompson when Brad got injured. All I want to see now is for Donte Greene to grow and grab that SF spot.

The next 2 days might be the longest 2 days in Kings rebuilding effort. But I hope its worth it.

How come i feel like the Kings are everyones ***** in the NBA? I feel like everyone is out just to screw us over (because they are) but no one is willing to actually take on a fair deal this year. I actually do like the Channing Frye deal somewhat, if they could just add a little more I'd bight. We could use a solid back-up PF this year.
From all the rumors I also think that the Kings are also shooting themselves in the foot :mad:

I heard on the Rise Guys this morning that the Kings are still in talks in getting Amare or Tyson Chandler. However last night, I heard Amare is staying in Phoenix. Guess, we will know in the next 48 hours.

And, Chandler got traded to OKC. According to Amick, only NY has shown any interest in Miller, but we have to take back a bad $6M contract. So, IMHO, Brad doesn't get traded if we don't get expiring. And, if Brad doesn't get traded theirs no room for another big contract. Plus there's no way we trade Salmons without getting good yound talent in return, no way it's just for expiring.

Finally, MM & possibly QD are the only ones to get traded.

A 26 yr old who along with one of the most dominant centers in basketball and 2 other all-stars can't even make it into the Western Finals. So, what is he going to do for the Kings, when they have no bench, one premier shooter, and a bunch of role players. The answer is nothing. And, for that spactacular improvement your willing to pay him $20M & give up 2 high draft picks. Thanks, but no thanks.

I'd rather wait until we are a contender, before I start paying one player 1/3 of our team salary. If we were in Portland's position, and needed a star to take us to the Finals, then I'd jump on the deal. But, we're not and won't be even with Amare. He'll see it, won't like losing and will jump the first chance he gets.
So...we're not a contender because we don't have any talent and you don't want talent because we're not a contender. Just want to make sure I have that straight.

Hahaha... as funny as that was to read I think you misunderstood him/her. You don't take on THAT big of a contract if you don't have the talent to win right now. Stoudamire does nothing for us unless there is some sort of grand plan to keep him in Sactown in a year as well as add talent around him. We would need more than him in order to be a contender.

I don't want Amare for $20M and our last 2 number 1 draft picks. Not because he isn't talented. But, because we aren't. And, giving up our last 2 #1 doesn't make us better. Therefore, Amare is going to go from a playoff team to one that doesn't win 20 games even with him.

Have you seen the pictures from the KIngs locker room after a game? Does anyone look like he wants to be there. Well, I give Amare less than a month before he doesn't want to be here either. But, he can do something about it. He simply exercises his ETO, and signs with any team he wants, and we're left with nothing. And, our rebuild is 2 yrs further along and we're in worse condition than before we traded for him.

Oh, yea, he won't leave because we can pay him more than everyone else. Fallasy! Do you think the Maloof are really going to pay him more than everyone else offers if we're not a playoff team? Plus, he can sign a one yr deal with NY. Make a ton of money on endorsements. Then resign with NY for more than he would have gotten had he resigned with us.

Anyone who believes that Amare wants to come here and spend the rest of his career trying to take us to the finals is an idiot.
