Woot! Wooot! That was awesome, to sit in Arco and cheer for our team to win the conference and get to the FINALS! It was my first game of the year at Arco, and it felt great to be screaming "defense" and have someone other than the tv and the kids hear me! Plus, it was my little one's first birthday today, and all in all, it was a GREAT day!

WOOO HOOOO!!!

That was an awesome performance! The cynic in me was waiting for a collapse but thank goodness it never happened.

The defense and heart on this team is something I'm not used to but I'm really starting to love it!:p

Onto Uncasville we go!

we did have a good year. with tina's pregnancy, no one expected us to do well this year, but we not only made the playoffs, but got out of the first round for the first time in four years. whew, those first round exits were hard to take a couple of those years. a couple we just plain didn't have it and it showed. anyhoot!

bottom line, its ya'll year! get it done...let them all underestimate the Monarchs. Sacramento has been a great team for longer than Conneticutt has ever been. no disrespect to Tibault or the players individually...just its Monarch destiny!!!

:D :D Yahoo!!!

We've been waiting for this for years, and now it's finally here!! What a great team and a great year. As they won yesterday, I was going through all the years and the disappointments in my mind, and realizing how now, they don't matter at all!!

And I especially enjoyed how composed and focused all our ladies were after the win. Yes, they were happy and enjoying it, but it was clear that this was just a small step forward and that there is much more to accomplish still. The determination is there. Now let's just hope it brings them to their first wins over the Sun!

First of all, wahoo!!!!!!!

I've been an STH since day one and have missed 3 games. This game has to be like the sweetest......The first few years, just abyssmal......Then the coaching and GM changes to get to the player changes to get to this level. It had indeed been a wild ride. The first few years I was sick of seeing Houston winning all the time, however, if we didn't make it, they are the ones I would've wanted to see at Conn.

This was a crazy game. Everyone came out to play, and they did awesome. They kept their composure for the most part. And played their game. Their bigs didn't do much, because our bigs are just better. We know Sheryl would score regardless. She played the whole game, and how many NBA 3's did she make?!?! With hands, arms, and the kitchen sink in her face.....Our rookies were great! Chelsea and Kristen brought their boundless energy and showed they could play at this level with no problem. Kara played like maniac. It was nice to see her finally play all out and be that productive. Yo, Bek, and DeMya always fierce in the paint. Ka-Powell was held down, but they had to keep 2-3 players on her when she got the ball. Hammertime Maiga had great energy too. Olympia took up some nice space under the hoop. Her elbows a comparable to Snow's.....I would've liked to see Erin out there too....Not sure what's going on there.....

They showed the post-game interviews on the big screen, and Van is always gracious in his complements towards his opponents. Win or lose, he always has something positive to say. When he came back out he talked with a few fans. And he gave Yo a big hug while she was doing the radio interview. Sheryl also had good things to say, like she thinks Sac will win it all! Whiz also complemented the Comets. I think the funniest thing he said that Kara was a tough as a knot on a log....That just cracked me up! Kara was also interviewed. Said she was the table-setter, but would take the open shot. That's nice to hear.....:)

All in all, this was great. The crowd was soooooo into the game. I was exhausted when I got home....(But maybe that 45 miles I had ridden in the morning had something to do with that too!!!!;) ) So now let's go to Uncasville, and get it done!!!!!!

That was fantastic yesterday!!! It was the culmination of so many previous seasons where the team was bad or injured or injured AND bad, or just flat out could never get over the hump of that confounded game 3 of the WCF. This was sweet. And I'm so proud of what they've done and how much poise they've played with.

Thanks SORF and Mr.4play for your best wishes. The M's are talking the talk as if they aren't satisfied with as Ticha said "getting a hat and t-shirt" They are close to getting a ring, they aren't going to let this opportunity pass without at least putting up a fight.

Van is a class act. He received a warm standing ovation as he walked across the arena to get back to his lockerroom. He stopped by before he hugged Yo to say somethings to those of us who were sitting behind the broadcast table. I shook his hand and told him thanks as he walked by.

I was able to watch my TiVo'ed recording of the game a few times just to relive the energy and get fired up for the opener on Weds.

Oh, the reason I'd guess that Buescher did not play in this series is that DeMya Walker did. I had posted in an earlier thread about why Buescher going on the IR late in the season was immaterial. With Brunson and Walker logging more minutes than they had earlier in the season, Buescher's not going to see many minutes unless one of them was hurt or in serious foul trouble. OSR is a center (as undersized as she might be) so that's why I'd think she's gotten minutes.

YES YES YES..This has been along time coming. Congrats to the Monarchs, and to you fans that go out and support them night in and night out. I do my best sitting on my couch yelling at the tv (my sister thinks I'm nuts). Good luck to the Monarchs in the finals.

Hey at the end of the game, Lawson was addressing the crowd and she siad something sounded like 2005 (something like that) what did the fans say after that? Is it like a chant yall have?? Go Monarchs

The thing is, Erin not only has high energy, with the ability to change the pace of the game on both offense and defense, but also has the potential to be a great "secret weapon".

She hasn't had a lot of PT this season, and therefore could surprise the heck out of the Sun. They'll be looking out for Yo, DeMya, Brunson, Powell, etc. - the usual suspects - but might be caught off-guard with Erin in the mix.

So I say, "Put Erin in!" (Gotta campaign for my favorite player!) :D

GO MONARCHS!!

Congrats to the Monarchs for getting to the WNBA Finals. I have faith that they can beat the Sun, and bring that championship to Sacramento.

Erin

Hi All,
I talked to Erin after the game. I told her that we wanted her playing and then I asked why she isn't. She said she did not know but she wants to play!
I saw her with her dad and sister.

I am so excited about tonight!
GO MONARCHS!!!
