Miller out 4-6 weeks with a broken leg

I was counting the days on my calendar and 4-6 weeks from now is like before the playoffs start...so maybe he'll be ready for the first round ! :)

He'll Be Fine ...

Yes, and it is not even the main leg bone, but the smaller bone in the leg.

SACRAMENTO, CA ---- Sacramento Kings center Brad Miller suffered a non-displaced fracture of his left fibula today (3/12/05). The fracture was confirmed by x-rays taken at the UC Davis Medical Center.

My daughter had the same thing happen to her while we were skiing. She was in a cast for a few weeks (3-4 weeks). After the cast was taken off, she walked around with crutches and one of them weird foot-cushiony type shoes that went 3/4ths the way up to her knee. Did that for about 3-4 days, got rid of the crutches, walked around with that foot-thingy for about another week or so .... a week or so later she was back into tumbling and all that gymnastic type stuff.

It's all just frustrating .... no where near the same type of thing C-Webb had.

How is her jump shot?

So, are things going to be the same as last year when we tried to stick Webber back in after being gone for most of the season?

I have faith in the new guys (and the old guys).. we'll weather the storm.

I hope.

This is ridiculous, heck, that's an understatement. I'm speechless, How the hell do you break a leg in practice?....wait Brad also got injured in an All star game last year...how often do you see that happen...damn. The playoff picture doesn't look good for the Kings :( . Even if he comes back, he will be rusty...

u know, I was wonderin the same thing..how do u break ur leg during a light shooting drill???

brad can still shoot while he is rehabing. and he should be able to run in 3 weeks, it will be reconditioning his body the last 2-3 weeks. but he should be able to get in a lot of shots.

I am wondering if the kings might be looking to sign one of the free agents that is still available.

vladimer stepania is still available as is oliver miller so is derrick coleman and keon clark.

I don't know if they would bring back keon but miller played well last time but who knows what kind of shape he is in.

I know petrie will try and pull something out of his hat.

how good is the webber trade looking now that we have some more depth.

some other guys available

lawrence funderburke, travis knight, chris gatling, matt friejie, alton ford, horace grant, cherokee parks, tyrone hill, charles oakley, adam parada

I know some of these guys are over the hill, but I think to get another quality bench power forward/center would be huge.

light shooting drill???

 wait so you're telling me it wasn't a full contact practice, but rather a light shooting drill?? oh man, that makes it even more unbelievable...

[iverson] i mean its practice, we talkin bout practice man [/iverson]

Or exactly the opposite -- we no longer have a star frontcourt player capable of running the offense where in the past even if one was out the other was still there. Either view has merit.

In any case I sincerely doubt we sign anybody else -- we have more than enough frontcourt bodies as it is. Even with the injury 2Cs 2PFs + Corliss who can swing up. We'll be ok with depth

Yeah a replacemnt player would make sense IF he can be an upgrade from Tag. Not sure that is the case.

I just don't see ti this late in the season. Fact is we have all the minutes already covered by non-scrubs. Nobody we could bring in at this point would make a difference. If we didn't bring them in earlier when we WERE shallow, can't see it now.

At least skinners FT % is getting better but between him and tag we are talking about our 2 centers haveing a 30% FT shooting average.

Hack a center here it comes!

A thought of TAG getting more playing time as a result of this injury makes me cringe

Of stop that -- he and Skinner together have the potential to make a significant defensive difference for us.

keon may not be an option but I was trying to put out the names of players who are still free agents. also jahidi white and glenn robinson. though I think jahidi white is injured. because this guy would not last long on a free agent market.

Skinner yes, TAG NO. Tag is a foul machine on D....but yeah he can dish out the punishment when necessary ;) . On the O, he is totally useless, he can't get his behind even an inch off the ground, he is a "useless mass" on the offensive end.

Who cares? Contrary to local Sacramento belief, the other side of the court is just as important. No star is Tag, but he can help where we are weak, and always could.

"No Star is Tag"... WTF you quoting Yoda? But yeah Tag IS the best option and it's just a pitty it takes a 4-6 week injury for Adelman to forced to play him.

Maybe Brad can call T.O. and have this miraculous recovery...minus all of the drama
Hell, at this point, anything can help. Maybe T.O. can make Brad eat 20 chickens a day or drink eggs, or whatever the hell he does to come back...I honestly believe we're specially cursed, this happens to no other team in sports with this much consistancy, every freaking year.

foreals totally agree, when i heard this or read the title of this post, i was like f**K no!

kings used to have like 30 assists in some games before.. with Weber/divac/bobby/miller/christie not playing , i wonder if we will even get 10 assists/game.
