Miami cant catch a break...

I dont know if anybody else it watching the Heat/Rockets game, but its been a good one so far...for the Rockets.

Wade injured his shoulder pretty bad, he was yelling in pain and needed to be taken out in a wheelchair, it looks pretty damn serious, i think he will be out for a while.

On a brighter side, Bonzi Wells hit a buzzer beater from the other end of the court near the free throw line, something like a 75 foot shot.

BTW, Wade was crying, its gotta be pretty bad, i wish him the best.

Shaq got a tech for doing Mutombos signature finger wave right in his face, you could see Bo tellin him "thats MY signature", funny stuff.

You know, the single most painful injury I ever had was when I separated my shoulder. And I've had a lot of them. But that was just excuciating. Not sure about the not walking thing though. That seems odd.

Miami can't catch a break except having the Mavericks hand them the NBA Finals last year.

The topic title was referring to this season so far, duh.

Shaq is out most of the first half, Riley out, JW out, now they come back and it looks like Wade will be out for a while, not to mention they are just plain not playing like a team that won the title last year.

Did you just 'Duh' me? lol

To be cynical, my guess is Wade makes it back sooner than expected because he is such a warrior, kinda like Kobe.

On a more serious note one of the posters on the Miami basketball.net board says it is a type 3 dislocation that means he is gone for the rest of the season with surgery as a very big possibility. Get Well Wade.:(

Oh, that is horrible.....and extremely painful. Get well soon, D Wade. :(

Even a less severe dislocation would mean a minimum 8 weeks. Once dislocated, its more prone to dislocate again, so the rotator cuff muscles have to be strengthened with rehab. Sometimes surgery is the only way to stabilize the joint.

Really sorry for Heat fans and Wade. Wouldn't wish it on anybody.

My dad played ice hockey and said a shoulder location was excruciating. And his was almost certainly of much less severity than Wade's. Said they put him on the locker room floor and the trainer put a foot into his side and jerked on his arm really hard to get it "relocated." ;) Hearing him describe it made me hurt. Of course we're talking the 1930's. He did say the pain lessened considerably and immediately once the shoulder was back in proper position.;)

Ive dislocated my left knee twice.... Ive heard major joint dislocations compared to giving birth from people who have had both.

The first dislocation is the worst because you are in so much pain and being scared s***less doesn't lesson any of it. I went directly on a stretcher and rode an ambulance.

Given the dislocated KNEE, I think a stretcher was warranted. ;)

Had a former gf who dislocated her kneecap when she was running and stepped into a pothole (before I met her). Nasty scar. I can only imagine the joy joy feelings involved.

In any case, dislocating anything more than a finger = owie. Actually dislocating a finger is an owie too but you can nromally just get them pulled back into place and taped up. But the big joints = not good. Webb had the same injury back in his Wizards days, and missed almost a whole season with it. Funny thing on this play was it just did not look like anything serious at all. In fact the movement was almost the opposite of what you would expect to cause such a dislocation (as former tree swinging monkeys our shoulders have a lot of muscle mass and stability against being pulled upward, but very little underneath to prevent them from being driven downward).

Speak for yourself - I think I descended from the desk-bound monkey clan.... ;) :D
