Meeting Day - April 3, 2013

GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....so much anticipation...........

Be very thankful we even have something to anticipate.

I'm absorbing the moment. I'm sure there will be a synopsis by the reporters. KJ very proud of the effort. He talked about benefits to the community. Burkle talked about the logistics of the arena. Steinberg talked about getting the arena done on time. Vivek is very proud to be a Californian and he is humbled by all the support from the fans of Sacramento and throughout the state of California. This is a GOOD GUY!

Steinberg says he's on a bit or a cloud. That even though they don't know the results, the NBA got the very best representation of Sacramento possible. He says they made their case and that the best defense is a good offense. We explained that Sacramento and California is set to do whatever it takes to avoid unnecessary delay and make sure this $1 billion of economic investment comes to fruition. We are the capitol city of the 8th largest economy in the world. KJ has done an incredible job. This is the culmination of a 16-year saga in this city and Steinberg is confident it will end satisfactorily.

“There is only 1 fair and right way for this to conclude and that is with victory for Sacramento and for California” - Steinberg

KJ was, is and will continue to be an ultimate class act. He says he did remind the NBA that Sacramento has delivered on their promises - TWICE - to the NBA. NO broken promises by Sacramento.

Could not agree more. KJ's seated between a multi-billionaire and a Senator and is just owning the whole room.

And Vivek touches on globalization and technology, two words very close to Stern's heart.

A bust or statue in the new arena entrance might be appropriate. I'm more and more enamored of Vivek as this goes presser goes on - he's seems like a true visionary.

I am thinking a MT. Rushmore style statue of KJ and the four whales in front of the new area would be good! :)

KJ truly assembled the ultimate dream team for Sacramento and for the future of the Kings. The last time I was this excited to be a Kings fan was when I heard Chris Webber announce that he was re-signing with the Sacramento Kings.

I LOVE THIS TEAM!!!!

#WeAreSacramento

The chemistry between Vivek and KJ ignites the room.

I can't shake the feeling that the roles are reversed with Sacramento acting like the Big Market (ownership group of four California billionaires, a forward thinking, rockstar mayor and talks of globalization, 21st century modernization in arena models and fan experience and "NBA 3.0") while Seattle is pulling a Small Market routine (Our arena is farther along, we have 44,000 season tickets guaranteed (we swear), you owe it to us after stealing our team)

@JasonRoss1140 This is what confidence looks like… and i have butterflies.

If I'm a NBA owner on that committee I've got to be thinking this is the last chance for Sacramento, but Seattle will eventually get a team sooner than later. NBA needs to support its small-market teams and this would be a great example of doing so.

And add in that they brought their own State Senator, who authored legislation that would ensure a streamlined process for the arena. You can't make that kind of stuff up - and the NBA knows it.
