Marcus Thornton Signs with Kings 4 Years 31 million

OK. I want whoever thought that was funny to say it was a joke. And then sit in the corner for the rest of the day. This will be a confusing day without someone deliberately creating confusion. I am encouraged that Petrie did not sit back and wait for the market value to be set and be passive about it. Player's egos might not be something we all should worry about but Marcus has to feel good about the aggressiveness of the Kings. It is also ironic that as a second rounder, he has come out ahead of all those picked in the first round.

The thornton signing being blocked by the NBA office was me..and was funny *to me at least* in light of yesterdays happenings.

The part about there being a snag in the deal is real, not made up. Fortunately looks like it won't hold up Thornton returning.

33 mil just sounds better than 40 mil, even though it's actually more per year with the 33 mil deal.

Great news. Big contract but he'll put the work in.

From his twitter, Marcus is extremely happy:

Good good. There were some problems with he and Reke trying to mesh late last season, and they aren't going to have much camp tpo get it together (tip for Thronton, Reke attacks the hoops, his natural passes are to guys in his line of vision in a cone from the angle out to each corner. If you are behind him on the wings he's not going to see you and hit you). But in any longeterm sense this is key.

Having he and Hayes around for toughness can maybe give us a boost.

She backed him into a corner. He can't back up any farther. Poor Marcus. Bet she'll ask him to take off his shirt in a few minutes.
