Who's the last all star rookie?
Blake Griffin 2011 (technically 2nd year but sat out 1st year due to injury, NBA still considered him rookie a la Ben Simmons last year)
Yao Ming 2003- got the vote over Shaq, there are a few people in China that may have gotten him in
Tim Duncan 1998
Grant Hill 1995
Shaq 1993
Dikembe Mutombo 1992
Luka would’ve been in if not for the changes in voting. Previously fan vote only picked starters. Luka will have to be picked by coaches to make it now as a reserve. In a loaded WC, not sure it’s going to happen.
Sigh....
Sigh....
we've graduated to criticizing him for drafting Fox over Doncic, the year before
A'ight, hoss. Y'all got it: https://community.kingsfans.com/thr...c-moved-from-doncic-performance-thread.71102/It's criticizing him for avoiding Doncic for the sake of preserving Fox as the franchise cornerstone.

Who are those other guys though? Were they any good?
None of those other guys would “fit” like Marvin Bagley so it doesn’t matter.
Also let's not forget about Tyreke. Obviously the same thing that happened to Tyreke is going to happen to Luka.........lol
Funny how people that keep running with this angle forget that Tyreke's game was based almost entirely on athleticism and getting to the basket. Tyreke's weaknesses were shooting and court vision. Luka has neither of those problems.
They’re both going to average 20:5:5 their rookie years so they’re essentially the same player, right?
Yep exactly the same player destined for the inevitable let down after their rookie year.![]()
Sooner or later all of these guys will be in the HoF.
I'm not sure that tanking is going to sit well with that boy.28/5/5.
It's halftime.
I'm not sure that tanking is going to sit well with that boy.
Starting to become pretty apparent that Luka is not going to hit any major rookie wall. He is cementing his status as an up and coming superstar in this league. To argue otherwise at this point is just foolish. Does anybody honestly believe this guy Luka is going to take a big step back? That's just not going to happen.
He's already an all star caliber player with probably the greatest clutch/closer ability ever for a 19 year old rookie. The stat lines he is putting up as a 19 year old is remarkable.
Talk about his "ceiling" is ridiculous because he doesn't need to get that much better......he's already there. Luka's ceiling and future over the next few years consists mostly of fine tuning his existing game and his body. That means improving his field goal percentage by a few percentage points, getting his 3 point % up to around 39-40%, lowering his turnovers, learning how to play better defense, and learning how to better draw fouls. These are all easily attainable incremental improvements for a player with his skill and intelligence.
I like Bagley a lot and his skill-set/fit is great for the Kings. At this point what's done is done and the Kings have their guy and the Mavericks have they're guy. No amount of complaining from the pro Luka guys like myself is going to turn back time and have Vlade redraft Luka onto the Kings. Maybe Vlade should have drafted him maybe he shouldn't. Normally Bagley would have been a great #2 pick based on what he is showing now. In the end that's the goal in any draft to get a super player, which the Kings certainly did.
Likewise no amount of spin deflection, Tyreke comparisons, and ceiling/wall talk from the anti Luka posters is going to stop him from becoming a superstar. You can wish and hope all you want (and sink your basketball knowledge reputations around here in the process) but he is a star and will be a superstar whether you like it or not. You can't stop it from happening so why refuse to acknowledge the obvious? You just better hope the Kings can stop Luka in a few years when both teams are really good and these games count for something in May.
Best case scenario going forward is that the Kings and Mavericks are both Western Conference power house rivals in a few years just like in the early 2000s.
Luka keeps doing Luka things.
Yall.... he ain’t gonna crash down.
